Raidiers Fire Tom Cable: Seahawks Nab Him

The Seattle Seahawks announced the hiring of former Raiders coach Tom Cable as assistant head coach/offensive line. It's a sensible landing for Cable. He's a protege of offensive line guru Alex Gibbs, who retired as Seahawks offensive line coach just prior to the start of the 2010 season. Cable will keep Seattle's zone-blocking scheme intact.

Cable is from the Seattle area. He grew up in the Everett-Snohomish area, which has produced a handful of other notable coaches.
