LaDainian Tomlinson signs with Jets

Soooo, they let an old back, who has shown he has gas in the tank, leave for an older back who's been running on fumes the last few years.

This seems like great news for Greene owners. Less so for Washington backers.

LT's not gonna like the cold weather up there either. He's way to used to 72 degree perfect San Diego. Hope he doesn't re-injure himself too quickly.

Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports New York Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson agreed to a two-year deal worth $5.2 million, according to a source. The deal can escalate to $5.7 million.

Thomas Jones signed a two-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday, where he is expected to be a change-of-pace runner behind Jamaal Charles. Jones will get $3 million in 2010 and $2 million in 2011.

According to Profootballtalk.com, the Jets were given a chance to match Thomas Jones' offer with the Chiefs and opted against it.

So we can add "costs more" to being less effective than TJ.
All I can figure is this is to sell jerseys and seats more than anything else.

 this one makes no sense.

For all those who are going to tout change of pace....uh no. LT2 is NOT a change of pace back. He is an older less durable version of Greene. Now ...if they keep Washington...and use LT to replace greene for rest or injury....that would be different.

For $5M+?

The Jest going Hollywood. I love this signing, especially if he's their primary runner, because LT has never had a decent game against the Fins. I'm provisionally calling another sweep.

I see LT2 being the goal line back. Last year he was the king of the 1 yd touchdown. If this is the case, Green's value goes down. It might be like LenDale "The Hamburgler" White and Chris Johnson during Chris Johnson's rookie year. White greedily stole and ate up a lot of touchdowns from Chris Johnson.
