Santonio Holmes to the Jets??!!??

Just saw it reported on Sportscenter that according to 1050 ESPN radio report out of New York that the Steelers will trade Santonio Holmes to the Jets for a 5th rd draft pick. Can't find a link


:wow: I would think Holmes is better then a 5th rd pick.

Mike Wallace looking very nice this year depending on the Big Ben dilemma.
 
If this is the case, the Jets are going to be a lot better this season. They seem to be "going for it" this year.
 
Guess the Steelers are showing that they won't tolerate public misbehavior by their players...........

Profootballtalk.com passes along "flying" rumors that unsigned restricted free agent Leon Washington is part of the trade that sent Santonio Holmes to the Jets on Sunday night.
 
So, a bit of a history repeat?? Steelers give away problem filled talented WR to a New York team who uses the WR to win a Super Bowl before the WR completely blows up??

No mention on Washington at all. If this is as reported and for just a 5th rd pick, sorry Pittsburgh, this was a BAD deal! Mike Wallace is a nice find, but what does that leave them after Wallace and an aging Ward? Sweed???

They now have to address WR in the draft and they received just a 5th in return....not enough value and creates another weakness.

The Steelers are not the team they were a few years ago. They are starting to look like the 3rd best team in their division like they were last year....
 
A 5th rounder for Holmes???? How did the Steelers only take a 5th rounder? If Braylon learns how to catch and Holmes doesn't get suspended for too long, they will have a pretty potent WR combo. Then having Greene and LT2 in the backfield. The Jets are looking good.
 
I think this means the end of Braylon. Your starting Wrs will be Cotch and Holmes.

Of course chances are Holmes is facing a 4 game suspension from teh NFL for the glass throwing thing. If so then Braylon may be safe for the year.

still, Holmes, Cotch and then Braylon in the slot are pretty damn sweet for targets.

Now the price makes sense. He WILL be suspended for 4 games pending appeal for substance violation.

To me Braylon and Holmes are the same kind of WR, except Holmes can catch. Id feel better if I were a Jets fan it were different. Then again, Roy Williams cant catch and it worked for Miles Austin.
