Here are some to watch:

  • Raiders WR battle - Who will emerge from the pack: Denarious Moore; Jacoby Ford; Darious Heyward-Bey; Juron Criner
  • Chargers WR battle - Can Vincent Brown unseat Floyd or Meachem for a starting role?
  • Bengals WR2 Battle Royal - Armon Binns vs Mohamed Sanu vs Brandon Tate vs Marvin Jones
  • Packers WR3 - James Jones vs Randall Cobb vs Donald Driver

What other battles are you watching? Who will come out on top in these?

Cincinnati Bengals WR Jordan Shipley (knee) is a candidate to start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list because they are being cautious with his recovery and have depth at wide receiver. At least he gets to hang around if he gets PUPed.

Shipley will not be going anywhere regardless. He is the best slot receiver they have by far. This will be a hit IMO if he can't start the season.

I love Moore in Oakland, and I think Ford is the other starter. I actually like Bey as slot, but only time will tell.
Chargers - by all reports they are in love with Floyd. I do see Brown taking from Meachem though, and actually love Meachem in the slot
Bengals - maybe this is my homerism...but I see Binns winning this, with Sanu seeing plenty of time as well as a fill in. I love the depth they have, but they NEED Shipley in the slot to make this offense go.
Packers - no this isn't a battle - its Cobb, with Driver as #4.

Just my $0.02

TC is getting closer, all these battles are about to heat up.

Tennessee is getting murky as well now with Britt's knee continuing to go under the knife and his inability to stay out of trouble off of the field. Wright & Washington could play much larger roles then many were thinking a month ago.

The Saints have an interesting battle going on for their #3WR spot between Toon and Morgan. With Colston getting no younger it's something to keep an eye on in the Big Easy.

Kind of like Toon there, but then again I am always for the underdog

I'm pulling for Toon as well PhiCin however the Saints were high on Morgan last year before his injury. WWL's staff has promoted Toon this off season. There's a good chance that one of them could be cut because the Saints like to carry 4 WR's.

Louis Murphy was never the same after a brutal "friendly fire" collision midway through the 2011 season.

So with injuries piling up and his production slowing down, Murphy was deemed expendable by the Raiders, especially with the emergence of rookie receiver Juron Criner, a fifth-round compensatory pick was traded Monday to Carolina.

Didn't Gruntbusters mention this guy?

From Mud's updates, here are some of the WR news:
Brandon Tate opened Bengals training camp as the starting receiver opposite A.J. Green.
Interesting to see tate open up as the early favorite. I don't see him holding this role as camp progresses, but with the news that Shipley may end up on PUP, this battle becomes very important.

Leonard Hankerson worked with the first-team offense at flanker during Friday's training camp practice.
I have been saying all offseason, I think Hankerson is the most talented WR on Washington's roster. Keep an eye on him.

Brian Hartline opened camp working with the second team.
Assuming this means that CJ and Bess were working with the first team?

On Cincy front, I think who starts and who sees the ball can greatly differ. I see Tate, Sanu and Binns as interchangeable, and will play alot. I am curious which of those three, or if baby Hawk gets Shipley's role til he is ready.

Yes, CJ and Bess are starting at Wr. Right now per all reports I have read.
