Worst Super bowl EVER?

Congratulations to the Seattle Seahawks, their coaches, owner(s), administrators, players and fans.

My condolences to the Denver Bronco's, their coaches, owner(s), administration, players and fans.

There...I've offered the politically correct, obligatory sentiments.

Now for the REAL emotions.

I'm deeply sorry for all the NFL fans that spent a lot of time and money preparing for what was supposed to be the best game of the season. From an unbiased, uninvolved perspective, the game was terrible entertainment. Possibly the worst Super Bowl of all time.

My sincerest apologies to the advertisers that spent MILLIONS of dollars and man hours trying to produce epic commercials in anticipation of epic returns. If they were unfortunate enough to purchase air time during the 4th quarter I'm afraid their investment went mostly unseen.

My sympathy to the journalists and broadcasters that have the assignment of covering the post game Broncos locker room.

But, most of all, I feel sorry for Peyton Manning. A horrible ending to a Cinderella season and an ugly title to one of the last few chapters of his career.

You almost had to expect it didn't you? All the hype of best offense vs. best defense and how intense this game would be? Manning cementing his legacy.....

I will say this, I watched it, fully expecting Manning to suddenly put his "S" back on.

right up until Harvin took the opening kickoff of the 2nd half to the end zone. That to me just knocked all the snot out of Denver's sails.

still, I did enjoy all the commercials in the 2nd half more.

I know most will blame Manning, but they should not. The man had NO time to move, make throws, he was constantly having his O-line shoved into him.

All the INTs were due to arm or ball getting hit, same for fumble.

Don't get me wrong, he looked OLD during the game, and he was absolutely punished in this game. Masterful job by Seattle.

no it wasnt just manning. Number 27 had a chance to break up that interception that was returned for a td. D thomas hesitated on many plays that i did see and seattle just played outstanding

And this was not by far the worst or most unentertaining SB. San Fran v Chargers and the second Dallas v Buffalo come to mind as way more horrible than this game. If you look at the stats over the course of the season you will see that the biggest difference in Denver's offense was not Manning. He completed a record 34 passes for the SB. The difference was RAC. The WRs just couldn't get themselves into any kind of open space to run after catching the ball. Over the course of the regular season Denver was the best in the league at running those bubble screens and crossing routes where the WR would take a 5 yd pass and run for 20 more yds. Seattle basically tackled the WRs immediately and did not allow them to run after the catch. The very few times that Manning did try to throw 20 + yard either the WR would get the ball jarred loose or Manning would get his arm hit or knocked around.

If you want to blame Manning the only reason I can see is the fact that he just happened to be the guy back there QBing. Replace Manning with anyone else and the results would have been similar.

Seahawks CB Richard Sherman said Tuesday that early in the game they figured out Manning s signals, hand gestures etc.... and knew what the Bronco's were doing on offense.

Yes Manning was not the same QB as he was during the regular season but the Bronco's secondary as well as special team's inability to tackle the Seahawks WR's after the catch & kickoff return specialists should get their share of the blame.

I went to Reno the weekend before the SB and put $40 on Seattle to win, the money line was +115 the ticket paid $86, wont see me shedding a tear LOL

/yeah definitely not worst EVER, but pretty bad... There was at least one Dallas superbowl that was complete garbage... The stealing signals and knowing what was coming makes a ton of sense... It did appear as though Seattle already knew what was coming... as well as many Broncos just not showing up... Manning needs to disguise a little more against more sophisticated units apparently, but you can't fault him for the other guys' lack of hustle and heart
