(nfl.com)Seattle coach Pete Carroll is fond of RB Justin Forsett and said he could be an every-down back despite the presence of LenDale White, Leon Washington and Julius Jones. "I love Justin as a player," Carroll said Monday. "I think he is an all-around guy that has big plays in him. He has a unique competitiveness about him that makes things happen with the ball in his hands. We are going to keep rolling with the process – no judgments to be passed for a long time, but we need to get the ball in his hands. He is a capable third-down guy as well so there is a lot he can do. Right now, I don't see any ceiling on how much he can play. It is going to depend on the mix of the guys. He is doing a great job."

coach speak at this point, but I would not rule out Forsett just yet either.....but on the other hand I'm not going to crown him based on Carrol talk in May.....the same coach that went out and brought in two backs just months ago.

rotoworld,
Julius Jones has remained the "starter" in minicamp and OTA practices.

Team beat writer Clare Farnsworth points out that Justin Forsett is still getting plenty of work and that offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates is "devising a role" for Forsett. The bottom line is that no matter who starts, the Seahawks will employ a committee approach in the backfield. We'd draft Forsett's upside before the mediocre skills of Jones.

Two backs brought in and Leon Washington will be ready later rather than sooner. Lendale was getting remarkable praise just a short time ago and it turns out he is terrible enough to be dropped. So now Hawks fans have Forsett and J.J. again as a backfield tandem. So naturally, now Forsett is the greatest thing since sliced bread even though JJ is getting the reps???Very very coachspeak. I don't doubt that Forsett may be the best draft choice but don't be reaching for either guy in this tandem for now. If they fall to you as great value gift grab em.

rotoworld,
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll reiterated that the starting running back job remains "wide open," with Justin Forsett and Julius Jones splitting first-team reps on Tuesday.

"There's no reason to call it [now]," said Carroll. "Julius has done everything he needs to do to represent. He's done a beautiful job so far. Justin continues to do real well, too. I love the way he's showing out here. Those guys are certainly in the one-two spots. Whoever is first, it doesn't matter to me right now. I can't tell and I don't care." If the competition is truly "open," expect Forsett to emerge as the more valuable of the two for fantasy purposes.
