Patriots Backfield: Ridley vs Law Firm

The Patriots only had five rushes over 20 yards last season, all by Stevan Ridley. Even with the late-season fumbling concerns, Ridley is in line for a substantial boost in playing time next season. The Boston Globe expects the Patriots to re-sign pedestrian talent BenJarvus Green-Ellis "only at their price."

In mock draft I've seen since the super bowl Ridley is going before the Law Firm but only slightly before.

The big runs matter less to Coach Bill than fumbling. Not very ff friendly.

It's true...... The Pats running game is based more on coming off a third down completion for a first down and grinding out 7 yards or so and setting up 2nd and short and 3rd and short in order to have maximum options on those two downs.

the only way Law firm returns is if he is smart enough to take less money. End of an era in NE as they potentially lose both Law firm and Faulk finally retires. Still, Ridley and Vereen are the future. Plus they have extra draft picks that they could stock up as well.

Word on the street is that ne offense is going to turn away from the passing game and focus on the running game.

An offensive line that enables Sir Thom of Brady proper function gets BB in the chamber.

Success in the NFL is a harsh mistress, for sure in the long haul.
Father Time and the draft.
