during the regular season.

But this is the new NFL where elite QBs and passing is king. Also now teams throw rookies out there and let them throw a ton o passes. Looks like this stat may well go the way of the Dinosaur, does Defence win Championships anymore?

The 9ers got this far on the back of a solid defense. I guess the showdown with the Saints will answer your question.

yds allowed reg season

nfc
packers - 411.6
giants - 376.4
saints - 368.4
49ers - 308.2

afc
patriots - 411.1
broncos - 357.8
ravens - 288.9
texans - 285.7

based on that stat, not many have a shot at winning if they make it to the super bowl . . . we could see more records broken this post season . . . ;)

49ers did their part to keep this stat safe . . . ;)

My power of Kibosh aside -

The Ravens and Niners Super Bowl line would be interesting.

The public will see the Ravens beat down of the Niners earlier in the year as a valid yardstick.

It wasn't even close.

What the public won't even bother to hear is the constant Niner whining I have heard ever since that game!

They had to travel all the way east on a short week (sun to thurs)

In all fairness they should play a third time, because little brother gonna beat big brother the second time.
