ok so im halfway through my first season of fantasy football but i would like some help for next year

the 3 leagues im in (ESPN 10 team with a friend, NFL.COM 12 team with a friend, and a yahoo 12 team, which i like the most) are fun, but only about half of the people play in the first 2

my question 16: what are the best leagues for fantasy football? website/# of teams/ PPR or not, etc

also, does SO have any special leagues?

I was referred to MFL (My Fantasy Leagues) by the kind people here, IMO PPR 12 teams is the way to go.

I'm in a IDP keeper league at ESPN and hate every minute of it and will not be returning in 2010.

Hope this helps you out

so derringer where exactly do i go on the site to access the leagues? does this site have numerous different leagues where people actually, you know, PLAY?

i was thinking of doing some 16-20 team leagues as well.

also, does anyone happen to know of any dynasty leagues or where to find them?

Not sure if there is a "best" type of league as it all comes down to personal preference. As far as numbers, 12-16 teams is a good league. If you get in a 16 league make sure your ready to go deep into the talent pool. I like ppr the best in terms of scoring, but as long as you know the scoring upfront and draft accordingly all can be fun (except TD only league, this isn't the 90's...)

If your looking for added involvement, try mixing in at least one redraft or dynasty leagues. They tend to be more ctive due to the nature of the leagues and the long term focus.

For a website, MFL is the best bar none. What you need to find are private leagues, public leagues suck and 1/2 the teams end up inactive. Many league openings pop up here throughout the year, just need to keep your eyes open during the offseason. Many of the league openings even have their forum on this site.

If you have any additional questions feel free to post them here or even PM me. I'll do my best to point you in the right direction.

MFL does not "have leagues" they are a league management site and the best one at that. They allow private leagues of about any format to host their leagues on their site. Almost all of the leagues with their forums here use this service.

YOu may want to look for a 16 team league first, 20 is A LOT....16 is the max IMO you want to play without using player duplicates IMO.

There are dynasty opening from time to time around here during the offseason, just be sure to check the league openings forum here.

My league not yet associated completely with this site averages one or two openings. It has a $75 entry fee with all funds paid out to the top four finishers. We're a 12 team, ppr league. I know of no openings upcoming and we have one guy in line for any possible openings.

MFL is the best out there for the money...if you like dynasty leagues with IDP, you may want to consider Zealots...

guys are there any FREE dynasty leagues?
There is a large group of leagues called Zealots, they are "free" leagues, but you still have to pay for the league mgm't site (MFL) which is like 7.50 a yr. They are complete 53 man dynasty leagues with individual defensive players. very competitive leagues, and every year they are looking for players.

Zealots Field

I would suggest that route. You can use me as a referral if your asked how you found them.
