KFFL,

Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones said will not get worked up over his workload at this point, according to David Moore, of The Dallas Morning News. Jones has not yet been told he will be the starting running back entering the 2010 season. "We'll see," Jones said. "We'll figure that all out. Right now, my job is to get better and make my team better, prepare myself for this upcoming season."

Both Barber and Jones can't stay healthy, so Dallas is better off with a committee and change of pace switch each series. I have both in two separate leagues and its painful to try and predict who gets the points on any given week. Felix can rush for 200 or 12 on any given day.

I think this is the year Jones emerges. I know what the party line is but we all got a glimpse of his capabilities late last year. Barber will no doubt be there to spell him but with 15 carries a game Jones can still do big damage.

Dallas can't afford another season of up-and-down running game. I think they'll be more willing to shake things up and utilize Felix as much as they can.

Felix has a good chance of breaking out this year. Health is the key. Limit him to 220 - 240 carries, make Barber the pounding back, Choice the 3rd down/change of pace back.

rotoworld,
The Cowboys plan to increase Felix Jones' usage in the passing game this season.

Jones' previous career high in catches is 19, so it won't be difficult. We wouldn't be surprised if he doubled that total this season. "Felix is way ahead of where he's been as a receiver," said owner Jerry Jones of Felix's work in OTAs. "He's been impressive with how he's running his routes. That has a chance to get ugly if he's really good ... coming out of the backfield."

rotoworld,
Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com is not buying the recent talk of Felix Jones becoming a major factor in the passing game.

MacMahon astutely points out that the Cowboys have been "raving" about Jones' receiving skills since rookie camp in 2008. There's also been constant hype about his ability to line up all over the field, but we've yet to see game evidence. The Cowboys have too many mouths to feed in the passing game, and Jones still hasn't mastered route running.

(cbssports.com)Dallas RB Felix Jones continues to get plenty of work as a receiver, getting a few reps with the Cowboys' receiving corps during individual drills on Tuesday. Many Cowboys have become excited over the prospects of Jones this season thanks in part to his incredible speed and versatility. That list includes owner Jerry Jones, who has named Felix Jones his starter a number of times this offseason (nothing is official on that front).

Analysis: One thought we had: What if the Cowboys are planning to utilize Jones much like Reggie Bush is used in New Orleans? Could that be an option the Cowboys are considering? If so, that would give them the opportunity to put even more weapons on the field throughout the season -- and give Jones plenty of chances to put up good numbers. While he'll still share reps with Marion Barber (who played hurt last season and is healthier and leaner now), there's a lot of potential in Jones this season -- though he could be a yardage machine and not a touchdown scorer. Though we suspect most leagues will have an anxious owner who will splurge on taking Jones a bit too soon, we recommend him as a solid mid-round pick (maybe Round 7 or 8) as a low-end No. 2 to low-end No. 3 Fantasy RB. He should definitely go higher in leagues that reward special-teams yardage.
