According to NFL spokesman Greg Aiello, the league is currently discussing postponing Sunday night's Eagles - Vikings game.
The National Weather Advisory has issued a winter storm warning for the area surrounding Lincoln Financial Field between 7:00 AM ET Sunday and 1:00 PM ET Monday. According to Weather.com there is a 100 percent chance of snow between those times. The game is scheduled to be played at 8:20 ET Sunday night. Stay tuned for updates.

Tuesday night football and the bowl games kicking into high gear. It'll be a whale of a week for us football fans.

Groundscrew at LFF looks like they are having trouble already keeping up with the snow. Great decision by the NFL to look out for the fans...and stretch out championship week a day longer, since I bet the majority of battles across the country and around the world involve Vick, Peterson, Jackson, and Harvin

This is an interesting dilemma.

People seem to be split on whether postponing was a good idea. Some argue that football is meant to be played in cold weather outdoors. Others argue that safety is too much of a concern for drivers.

But is there ever a time when bad snowy weather isn't a safety concern?

For the 2nd straight week Favre gets a little more time to heal his broken coconut and to get another chance to play a game.

Conspiracy Theory :hmmm:

My question becomes where do they draw the line in the future? There's been much worse weather in the past for the fans and the players. And what about the fans that came to town for the weekend? They'd already spent their money on rooms and such. Seems to me they got screwed a bit.

Mayor of Philly decleared a state of emergency as of 2pm stating that people should not leave home.

The mayor declared a SNOW Emergency, not a state of emergency. A Snow Emergency just means that you cannot park on a snow emergency route, usually just roads that lead to local hospitals. You were able to drive at your own risk, but just need to steer clear of snow removal vehicles.

As a ticket holder of this game, I am loving the fact that they postponed the game. My gf had to work yesterday and I would've had to get home in order to watch our daughter. I would expect it to take me 3+ hours to get home after the game... It was a vicious storm. To try to see the game from the stands through the snow that was falling plus the snow drifts would've been difficult.

We can only hope for such a storm on that date to put a stop to the insanity of playing super bowls in potential artic conditions forever.

Heck, now that we don't play the pro Bowl in Hawaii lets renovate U of Hawaii stadium and play all the Superbowls in Hawaii.
