Do you think it is worth picking up Cam Newton?

For a backup QB now that he is named the starter.

Are you exchanging Newton for your current Backup QB (who)? Or adding him to your roster as a third? (dropping who)

If I were to pick him up I'd be dropping Orton as my backup

Panthers will definitely be throwing a lot, but rookie QBs do not succeed their first year in the NFL. I would much rather have Orton, he put up great numbers last year, has experience, and throws to Brandon Lloyd. With the very small chance that Orton loses his job to Tebow (I don't think its going to happen), then by all means drop him and pick up Newton. That would be the only scenario and I'd prefer a different QB other than Newton.

I'd keep Orton over Newton hands down in redraft leagues.In Dynasty and Keeper leagues Newton could be someone to take a flyer on. His feet will allow him to do more than a lot of people are banking on but at best he's a low number 2 at this time.
