So here is where we stand with Watson.
20 of 24 cases have been settled, and monies exchanged are under NDA so won't be released.
the other 4 and if any others continue to be added, will go to trial unless they complete settlements - but not until off-season next year
Tuesday the NFL, NFLPA and a judge will have disciplinary trial to decide punishment for Watson.
Per sources the NFL is pushing for a suspension of indefinite length that will last at least one season
Per sources the NFLPA and Watson are pushing for a suspension of 6-12 games
The issue is....what the judge will do.
Per one report from PFT - This judge could request any and all evidence for some embarrassing NFL issues - Current Commanders owner issues (Daniel Snyder) or all the evidence on what happened to Patriots owner (in a similar issue - Robert Kraft) to determine a basis if players are held to a different standard than Owners. If that were to happen the NFL would be in a very bad position.
OR
The judge could shut that down if she does not agree with the Defenses position on this.
Last but not least, if NFL does get forced to share this information, they can appeal, but as far as Watson's case, the final judge on the decision of punishment will be Goodell or his set designee for this case .
Net, Watson is facing a potential indefinite suspension, that will last at least 1 year.
Which makes Browns handling of Mayfield even more stupid.
