This one boggles my mind. Did not Jerry Jones just come out not too long ago and state Chemistry is overrated as an issue? TO was not the problem in Dallas. The problem was not running more, and getting Roy more involved. Still, my guess is this is more cap related than chemistry related.

And because this is the last capped season, the Cowboys cannot spread out the hit over two seasons like teams were able to do previously. Any time that Dallas Cowboys management wants to leak a story for nothing more than public reaction, they make sure Ed Werder hears it somehow, so it will immediately hit the media, and they can get fan reaction. This is why Werder "misses" more than he "hits". Dude runs with everything, while others sit back and try report things that are more factual.
Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones, and specific members of the coaching staff will monitor the fan reaction to this, and if it is overwhelmingly in favor of kicking Owens to the curb, he will be gone, and Werder will be the guy that broke a story. If the sentiment from the fans is to keep him, he will stay and Werder will once again look stupid.
Dallas is officially opening a new stadium, and they need their fans to be behind them 100%. The Owens decision will be based on fan reaction to this "intentional leak"

i don't see how TO has been bad for the chemistry in dallas, and he is a hard-working, talented player. why would you cut him?

As a Cowboys fan, I dont mind T.O. Sure he gets a little drama going on in the locker room but when he is on the field, he is working harder than anyone else on the field. I actually hope Dallas does keep him for another year. I am not a fan of Tony Romo at all. He seems to be the celebrity QB that Parcells told him he doesnt want to be. And towards the end of each season hes awful. I dont see how you can go from being as good as he is at the beginning of the season to as bad as he always is at the end of the season.

A lot of great points made here so far. Most are good and part of the puzzle. This one deserves good consideration. TO will fill the seats. While Cowboy fans will generally be trying to go to every game but when it comes to nosebleed seats and a sellout TO will sell out those seats in a heartbeat. If you love him you will be there to vote vocally with your cheers. If you hate him you will come to vote vocally with your boos. Being there to voice your vote can't be done while watching the game on TV
They were talking about this on the radio today, one Dallas player stated he can't remember the last time the charter left on time and they said that many times they were told it was being held for: JERRY JONES!
If the owner can't get there on time to board the plane, how does he expect the players to keep showing up on time??
