Careful of Kolb, Vick to see 15 snaps per game?

NFL Network's Michael Lombardi expects Michael Vick to play 12-15 snaps per game this year.

That number seems a bit on the high side, but the Eagles do expect Vick to play a bigger role in 2010. There was reportedly a "night and day" difference in Vick from last season to this year's post-draft minicamp, with his speed and footwork improved significantly. Even if Lombardi's prediction is slightly hyperbolic, Vick still has the potential to harm Kevin Kolb and LeSean McCoy as a red-zone specialist.

No way that this is going to happen BUT if it did wouldn't it kill Kolb's value as a fantasy QB?
 
Wasn't this about the same estimated snaps last season for M.Vick and ended up doing nada.

Just throw Vick a bone :duckhunt: to keep him happy.

Let Vick do the kick off and punt return duties
 
I can see him in a "goal line" QB role. Bootleg or roll out with the option to run is tough to defend.

As Paul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Daily News points out, Donovan McNabb had tremendous arm strength and poor accuracy. Kolb is the exact opposite. The Eagles will run more short slants and curls that should give explosive receivers like DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin chances for big yards after the catch. Kolb's pinpoint accuracy allows receivers to catch the ball in stride. Neither receiver's fantasy outlook suffered when McNabb was traded.

Michael Vick insists that he's now faster than he's ever been before.

"I'm quicker, light on my feet," Vick added. "So I guess somebody missed out this time around. But I'll make it work here, and they'll see." Out of shape last season, Vick was missing his extra gear. Reports from offseason practices suggest he's not exaggerating about regaining his speed. The Eagles expect him to player a bigger role this season than last.

Michael Vick said Tuesday that he expects running the Wildcat to be his role this season.

Vick has been working under center for most of the offseason as he prepares to be Kevin Kolb's backup. But unless Kolb gets hurt, Vick will be limited to the "Spread Eagle" package. It's very possible that he'll steal red-zone potential from Kolb and LeSean McCoy.

There is a huge write up at ESPN in the NFC East blog area. Absolutely raving on Kolb, his maturity and his accuracy. If half what I read is true...this kid will be a steal in fantasy drafts this year. They also call out how Maclin has really picked things up as well.

Jeremy Maclin (hamstring) was back at Eagles practice on Wednesday.

Obviously, Maclin's hammy was just a little tight and not pulled at all. He's locked in as the starting No. 2 wideout and should see plenty of single coverage this season with DeSean Jackson drawing attention.

I'm really not concerned about the Michael Vick snaps. They will mix him in there but it won't be anywhere near 12 snaps a game. This is Kevin Kolb's team now and I feel his role in the offense will be very similar to McNabb's last year.
 
It's not the number that has me saying hmmmmm as much as the redzone speculation. Say they do use him in a redzone package a significant amount of time, from a fantasy perspective, what does that do to Kolb? How many scoring ops does he take.

Info on Kolb sounds great, but if they pull scoring ops that could waste a very good fanatsy QB.
