Guess I'll get something started here, but today is LOI day. Anybody have any insights into what we're looking for, and who are some of the impact freshman that we should be looking at if we're in Dynasty College Fantasy Football Leagues?

LSU's getting some big time potential with a couple signings in the top 10 of the ESPN top 150

Looks like one of the big names of the day, running back Trent Richardson, has signed with Alabama.

-----------------------------

Consensus five-star running back Trent Richardson picked Alabama as his college of choice. He announced he would join the Crimson Tide at a press conference Wednesday afternoon at Escambia High School where he donned a houndstooth hat to punctuate his choice.

Richardson is considered one of the best running backs in the country as ESPN, Rivals and Scout rank him highly. Richardson was ranked the top running back by ESPN, the second best running back by Rivals and the second best running back by Scout.

Richardson is 5′11″, 220 lbs. and runs a 4.5 in the 40.

According to ESPN, “Richardson has the strength to pound between the tackles and the perimeter speed to turn the corner and go the distance. He possesses great size: a compact, thick frame and very good upper- and lower-body strength. Can be a durable high-carry college back who can wear down a defense. He’s a violent runner with great slashing, one-cut ability.” (You can read more of ESPN’s evaluation at the above link.)

Richardson committed to Alabama during the summer, but took visits to SEC rivals like Florida and LSU. The Richardson sweepstakes picked up during the last three weeks with Florida’s Urban Meyer spending six hours wooing the recruit. Rumors swirled throughout the last week with Florida, LSU and Alabama each leading depending on the day of the week.

No wonder the SEC dominates every year, according to Rivals, the SEC landed 15 5 star recruits. The other 5 BCS conferences combined landed 18!!

Ive never read into this too much. Following this logic, the SEC should win every national title, every bowl game, and every OOC game, yet in the end it's always USC nobody wants to play.

I believe I also read one of these 5 star guys was a dude who took 3 years to get the grades up to minimum levels.

ummm, the SEC has won the last 3 NT's.....not USC ;)

But USC has 4 of the 18 in the other category, so if you take them and place them with the SEC #'s it's even more lopsided. 19 for SEC & USC and 14 for the rest of the BCS schools.....

While most sources say Michigan didn't have a great signing day they did pick up a nice QB prospect. A freshman that might be able to step up right away at QB which is a big hole for Michigan to fill.Tate Forcier has the best chance to make an immediate impact as a true freshman quarterback. He's a lethal runner and a perfect fit for Rich Rodriguez's spread option offense. He also enrolled early and will participate in spring drills, valuable experience for a young quarterback.

While there are other Freshman QBs that you should keep an eye on in a dynasty draft this is one of the best.

Two against Ohio State. Whoopie. USC would have throttled all 3 teams. The list of things wrong with that statement in justification of the SEC's perceived greatness are too much to list.

:biglaugh: The perceived greatness of USC is what is funny, the team that can't even sidestep the mighty pac 10 year in and year out. My guess is if they would have played the last 3 champs, they would have went 1-2 at best....they were supposed to beat Texas a few years ago and lost that one too...

USC is on the same level as the elite SEC, but hardly seperate themselves....in fact, they seem to do less with more than anyone else in the country.....

A big story here is also the non-signing of Bryce Brown, thought to be the top RB prospect in the country. He verbally committed to Miami last year but it seems that he is still considering other schools.

QB Matt Barkley who was picked up by USC is another QB who should be on your dynasty radar.
