Under the heading of "Good Grief."

Chiefs released RB C.J. Spiller.

The move makes room for RB Akeem Hunt, who the Chiefs apparently like more on special teams. Spiller has now been released three times by the Chiefs in the last two weeks.

Danny Amendola (concussion, knee) is out for Week 2 against the Saints.

The Chicago Tribune's Rich Campbell expects Jordan Howard (questionable, shoulder) to play in Week 2 at Tampa Bay.

However, Campbell left open the possibility Howard could see limited snaps by saying it was "fair" to expect a downtick in playing time after Howard did very little in practice all week. It's not inconceivable rookie Tarik Cohen winds up leading the Bears' backfield in snaps after leading them in Week 1 targets.

I hope this is not true, Cohen is not an every down back, and they will only kill him and lower his value if they over play him.

Also, for those of you suddenly on the Cohen band wagon......does one wonder if his extended use was more due to Howard being dinged up...or his real value....makes me wonder.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Sam Bradford's (questionable, knee) ACL and ligaments are still intact.

His status for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh will be determined during pregame warmups, though according to NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala, Bradford said he expects to play.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport considers Markus Wheaton (questionable, finger) a "much longer shot" to play than Jordan Howard (questionable, hamstring) Sunday against the Buccaneers.

Wheaton has been practicing on a limited basis since last week but from the sound of it, he isn't ready for game-action yet.

ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports Odell Beckham will test his injured ankle in pre-game warmups on Monday night.

It is the same routine he followed before last week's game, but Raanan notes there is much more optimism he will play this time around. That said, owners should have a backup plan in place.
