Westbrooks travels...

They'll both have to come down to planet earth with their great expectations. Westie should bow out while he can still walk and talk.

rotoworld,
Brian Westbrook said that he wants to "go to a good football team, a team that can win."

Well, that should rule out the Rams. And since the Broncos have reportedly lost interest in B-West, all signs point toward him signing with the Redskins. It appears money is the only thing stopping him from joining up with Donovan McNabb in D.C. right now.

rotoworld,
The Denver Post suggests that the Broncos' addition of Kolby Smith indicates that the team no longer has interest in free agent Brian Westbrook.

The Denver Post, obviously, has never seen Kolby Smith play. Westbrook averaged 4.5 yards per carry last season. Smith hasn't topped 2.9 YPC in the last two years, and is just as injury prone as Westbrook. He's certainly not a good bet to make the team, let alone a superior option to Westbrook. The Broncos would have no trouble cutting Smith if they were to sign Westbrook.

The Washington Redskins are still interested in unrestricted free-agent RB Brian Westbrook (Eagles), according to Redskins.com's Gary Fitzgerald.

Westbrook may also be drawing interest from the Rams. If the Redskins do sign him then it probably means a back like Willie Parker would get cut.

rotoworld,
Rams VP of football operations Kevin Demoff disputed an ESPN report that his team was close to signing free agent Brian Westbrook.

Demoff, who handles contract negotiations for the Rams, said he hadn't spoken to Westbrook's agent for several days. While he remains optimistic that Westbrook will land in St. Louis, Demoff indicated that nothing is imminent. The Associated Press report oddly listed the Cowboys as one of the teams Westbrook has visited. We have to think that's supposed to be the Redskins.
