Week 7 - SO College Football Poll Voting thread

1. Florida
2. Alabama
3. Texas
4. Iowa
5. Boise St
6. Cincinnati
7. Virginia Tech
8. USC
9. Ohio State
10. TCU

Honorable mention: LSU

Thoughts: The top 3 are clearly separated. At this point Bama has been very impressive and get the nod over Texas who is now entering the meat of their schedule, this could flip back easily in the upcoming weeks. The next 3 are IMO the next best undefeated teams and have enough of a resume to place them ahead of the 1 loss teams. The 3 of these are all very close, but I give the nod to Iowa based on the road victory at Penn St, it's better then any win the other 2 have. In the next group you have the best of the 1 loss teams, Va Tech gets the nod, they have been very impressive and their only loss is to #2 Bama. Then you have USC/OSU, OSU's defense has been dominant, but they lost to USC at home....USC lost to Washington which is a much worse loss, but they rebounded against Cal and with their win over OSU, I'll give them the nod for now. TCU rounds out the top 10, don't know how high they can rise with that schedule, but this is a team I like.

Care to elaborate....after all, they beat your #5 team pretty soundly.....

Dammit! Forgot about that.

Seriously though, I don't think Alabama is deserving of the high rankings they are getting. If they do well against some of the better teams on their schedule then I'll change my mind about them.

It's your rankings but I'm not sure what you want out of them? They played a current top 10 (even top 5 by some) team on a neutral field and controled the game from start to finish and recorded an impressive win.

And now just last week they played a preseason top 10 team on the road and demolished them.

I get not digging Bama, I have underestimated them the last 2 seasons and until this week never really was ready to give them their due......but to say they don't deserve a top 10 ranking and then put a 2 loss Oklahoma in there and even a 1 loss PSU who has beat NO ONE and still has a loss seems to be taking it to the extreme.

But as I said, your rankings, we all have opinions, just was curious as to why. 2 solid wins seems like more than most have racked up so far.

Not putting Bama in the top 10 is about as easy as justifying Cincinatti being in the top 10....and most put them in there.

Most overrated teams that I've seen so far this season: Ole Miss, Georgia, Cincinatti.

Cincinnati is undefeated, and while not a murder's row schedule, has beat everyone on their sched and went out to Oregon St and beat an OK pac-10 team on the road.

I think till they lose (and they will st some point, probably this Thursday) they have earned the right to be there.

I rank teams on what they have done, not who I think will beat someone else.
