Roethlisberger and the Steelers have restructured his contract, freeing up $6 million in cap space, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Roethlisberger's cap number of $19.595 million for 2013 has been chopped down, with $9 million of his $11.6 million base salary turned into a bonus. The bonus itself will be prorated over the remaining three years of his current deal, which expires following the completion of the 2015 season.

this is like the 4th contract they have restructured in teh last month. They are now about $5 million below the cap now. But I hear they are still working on some contracts as we speak.

Wonder if the team or player ever sneak in some perks when they restructure like a no-trade or something or if its strictly money restructuring.
