- Cardinals owner Bill Bidwill passed away Wednesday at the age of 88.
Bidwill's father, Charles, purchased the then-Chicago Cardinals in 1933. Bill inherited the team in 1962 shortly after it moved to St. Louis. Bill moved the team to Arizona in 1998 after St. Louis refused to build the Cardinals a new stadium. Bidwill has handed most day to day operations to his sons, Charles and Bill Jr., who will continue to handle those duties. Bidwill had been the longest-tenured owner in the NFL since Ralph Wilson's death in 2014.
