Portis: listed as Questionable

Looks like he has ankle problems, he seems to play despite the pain, normally. Zorn says he will likely play.

Anything on his status lately?

Nothing new but a link none the less.

Redskins | Portis questionable for Week 3 Fri Sep 25, 03:19 PM
David Elfin, of The Washington Times, reports Washington Redskins RB Clinton Portis (ankles) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 25. He is listed as questionable for Week 3, but the Redskins head coach Jim Zorn expects Portis to play.
Our view: The matchup against the Lions is too good to pass up as long as Portis is active, but if he isn't, Ladell Betts becomes an immediate must-start.

I reaquired Betts this week in the SOFFL on this news.

As he did last week, Redskins RB Clinton Portis did not practice on Wednesday as the team begins preparations for Week 4 against the Bucs. Portis hurt his calf in Week 3 at Detroit, limiting his carries, and also has been dealing with ankle spurs. "I've been dealing with the spurs for two years," Portis said. "It was just in the last few weeks they got irritated and sore.

Note: Portis is expected to play but may not/will not be at 100%. It's too bad that Portis is dinged up because he faces easy games the next three weeks.

Things are looking a bit brighter for Portis owners

From cbssports.com,

Redskins RB Clinton Portis was in pads Friday working with the rest of the team and participated in practice. At this point he's expected to play against the Bucs in Week 4. Portis has been battling ankle spurs.

Don't cha just love conflicting reports, lol. From cbssports.com,

Updating a previous report, Redskins RB Clinton Portis did not participate in practice Friday, making it three straight days without work, and is listed as questionable for Sunday vs. the Buccaneers. Ladell Betts and Marcus Mason split first-team reps all week in Portis' place. The starting running back for the Redskins is dealing with ankle injuries. "He's just questionable. That's all. Fifty-fifty," Zorn said after practice according to the Washington Post. "He's as frustrated as anybody. ... I'll just tell you that he's had a good attitude out here, and he's really tried to work in the training room all week to get up to speed again. And it is getting better."

ASHBURN, Va. -- Clinton Portis' playing status will be a game-time decision for the second consecutive week for the Washington Redskins.

The running back is nursing a bruised calf after being kicked in the second half of last week's loss to the Detroit Lions. He also has been hindered by bone spurs in both ankles, but Redskins coach Jim Zorn said Friday the calf is the reason he believes Portis has a "50-50" chance of playing Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Portis is off to one of the slowest starts of his eight-year NFL career, with 183 yards on 47 carries through three games for the Redskins.
