Picking 9th...???

Who do you think I should target? It seems that after the top 6 RB's the talent starts to run out rather quickly. I am pretty sure I am going to target a WR. But do any of have a suggestion of any RBs (outside the top 6) that I should potentially target? Thanx in advance for the advice.

In my rankings if only 6 RB's are taken you will be left with a choice of Steven Jackson or Michael Turner. (Chris Johnson, ADP, MJD, Ray Rice, Gore, Turner/SJax)

I would definitely be happy to grab either of them at 1.9 If both of them are gone then take Andre Johnson.

If he's gone its pretty much a crapshoot with RB's like Shonn Greene, Deangelo Williams, Cedric Benson and Ryan Grant. Grant is a nice safe pick but 1.9 is pretty early. I would probably take Deangelo if all the other RB's are gone even before a stud receiver b/c after Andre Johnson all the good ones are pretty even.

I would grab Turner or Jackson if they were available. If they are not I would then go to Andre Johnson and if hes not there either Rodgers or Brees.

I like Ryan Grant. He should be consistent. I also like Pierre Thomas this year, but you should be able to get him in the second round. Maybe even Grant in the second. If AP, Rice, MJD, CJ, AJohnson, Gore and Turner are gone, I would probably get A. Rodgers. He will probably be in the top 3 in overall scoring again this year. He could get 400 yards rushing along with 5 rushing TD's. Then you might set off a QB run, leaving you with prime picks as your second pick third round pick.

Can you trade down to 11 or 12??

If not, I would certainly look to a sure thing, like a Wayne. I want sure points in the first round.

Turner's current ADP is 1.7.....so a 2 spot fall won't be that uncommon. I would not plan for him to be there, but won't fall out of my seat if he is.

Well thanx guys. I appreciate the advice

I am always leery of drafting a QB early. When ever I run through mocks it tends to leave you thin at both WR and RB which take up over half a starting roster. I like taking WRs early and I would have an opportunity to take the best one on the board. With that said Andre Johnson's injury history kind of scares me away.

So, lets say I decide on a WR...Who would you take besides Andre Johnson? I am really am thinking Calvin Johnson is gunna fall to my pick coming back in the second. I think Stafford will improve and CJ will have a Monster year. I would love to double up at WR, I just dont know which WR to take 8th overall.

Calvin Johnson... He could explode this year. The Lions got better offensively this offseason. Stafford is a deep pass QB and Calvin is a deep threat its a perfect combination. Even tho the lions got better they will still be throwing the ball alot this year because they will be behind 3 out of the 4 quarters almost every game. The Lions should have the possession of the ball longer then last year and that means more opportunities for Calvin.
But you should still think about drafting A. Rodgers. he was the leading scorer last year and could repeat. I drafted him in the first round at pick 6 last year and ended up winning. I would pick Rodgers and the hope Calvin is still there with my 2nd pick.
