Okay we have gotten through the first 3 weeks of preseason, and wanted to gauge members here how they now rank the rookie rb situation.
Here is what I thought prior to start of season:
1) Barkley NYG
2) R. Jones II Tb
3) R. Penny Sea
4) D. Guice Was
5) N. Chubb Cle
6) S. Michel N.E.
7) R. Freeman Den
8) K. Johnson Det
9) K. Ballage Mia
10) N. Hines Ind
11) C. Edmunds Ari
12) J. Wilkins Ind
Now that time has passed :
1) Barkley
2) Freeman
3) Chubb
4) Wilkins
5)Johnson
6) Penny
7) Michel
8) Ballage
9) Jones
10)Guice
11)Hines
12) C. Edmunds
Reasons:
Freeman to me seems to have the #1 locked up and he will help take pressure off of Keenum
Chubb will get shot early and often due to Hyde not staying healthy IMO
Wilkins looks to be carrying the load in Indy, and Mack is hurt right now
Johnson would be higher, but I feel they will use Blount as the redzone battering ram so not many TDs for Johnson
Penny - hurt, stuck behind Carson - but should be taking more and more midseason or so
Michel - no idea what impact he may have, so he may drop soon in my rankings
Ballage - Drake can do it all, but team doesn't seem to trust him, so he may get shots
Jones seems lost
Guice - coming back from a major knee issue takes time, especially for rbs, so that hurts him more
Hines can't hold onto the ball
Edmunds seems to be #2 behind D.J. in arizona
