Rex Ryan, the first-year coach for the New York Jets, on Thursday named Kellen Clemens the teams No. 1 quarterback entering training camp. Then after one day of camp says Sanchez is throwing better.

Yikes, this is far from over. Those of you in smaller leagues looking for a back up QB should likely look elsewhere. In larger leagues, be careful.

Or at the coin flip, heads is Sanchez tails its Clemens to start the game.

Or do most coaches these days simply play the media by talking up both players because any criticism, no matter how small, is perceived to be the death knell on the guy and his chances?

It's a non-story at this point IMO cos it's too early. If Ryan had said Sanchez has no chance of starting and Clemens is the man for the season barring injury then that would be the story.

I cant see that being indecisive would be the best way to play the media circus, Ryan should just keep these kind of comments between himself and the coaching staff.

With him being the Jets $60million man, Sanchez wont be holding a clipboard and wearing a headset, he will be on the field when the season starts.
