Those dreaded words to any Fantasy Football Owner !! It means you will have to wait until just before kickoff in order to find out if you can start a player. First on our list for Week one:

Dallas Cowboys Tight end Jason Witten will be a game-time decision for Week 1 vs. the Giants, according to team beat writer John Ellis. Witten plays ( or not) in the season opener on Wednesday Night NBC/ 8:30. Looks like Witten owners will all be tuning in for the season opener.

Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten (spleen) will be examined again early next week and surgery on his spleen has yet to be ruled out. However, his progress so far is encouraging, and doctors are checking his blood work daily to make sure his spleen is healing. Witten did some rehab work Monday, Aug. 27.

Re: Game Time Decision : Week 1

Coach Leslie Frazier expects Adrian Peterson (knee) to be a game-time decision for Week 1 versus the Jaguars. This may end up being on of those situations where AP get the ceremonial start and then takes a quick powder early on.

Re: Game Time Decision : Week 1

I couldn't start either player in game 1. I wouldn't start AP until he proves he's back no matter how many weeks that may take.

Game Time Decision : Week 1

Unfortunately since AP cost an early draft pick him at 75% may be better then your rb3 at 100%.

Re: Game Time Decision : Week 1

If I didn't feel better about my RB 3 then AP for week one I failed in my draft.

Re: Game Time Decision : Week 1

Witten is out!! He had a CTscan and Drs cleared him for week 2.

AP soulds like he is going to get some usage. Toby Gerhart is the better play right now but does his piece of the pie get big enough? great flex play though.

Best keep an eye out for news on Lynch. If Turbin is on your WW better grab him quick. Might wind up being a top week 1 start

email from Joe Bryant on Witten:

Two things - this is not official "news". This is something I'm hearing from one of my sources that I consider very reliable. And what I'm hearing is that contrary to most reports out there, Cowboys TE Jason Witten will be on the active roster tonight and will play.

I've always operated our Footballguys website on a very simple idea. And that's "You'll know what I know". So that's why I'm passing this along.

There are huge questions as to how effective Witten will be if he plays as he's missed a ton of conditioning time. But we all know he's a guy that could do damage in the red zone in limited opportunities.

Make sure to be clear on what I'm saying. I'm saying don't give up just yet on Witten for tonight and that you should confirm with the official inactive list before the game before making your decision.

1 league I have him on my bench, with MJD starting McFadden. MaGahee, and Deangelo Williams
1 league I am starting him with McFadden with Gerhart, Moreno, Mendy, and M. Bush on my bench

That is all in pencil though

Lynch back in "limited" practice today

Coach Pete Carroll warned that people shouldn’t be hasty to dismiss a return of Marshawn Lynch this week, as his balky back would be evaluated on a daily basis. Thursday, Lynch was eased back into practice in preparation for the season opener Sunday at Arizona.

Lynch had only five carries in the preseason, sitting out since the Denver trip when he suffered back spasms. The Pro Bowl back had solid games against Arizona last season (159 yards in two games), but got off to a slow start last season (33 yards in Game 1 vs. San Francisco, 11 yards in Game 2 vs. Pittsburgh and 24 in Game 4 vs. Atlanta). However, once the line play solidified, he exceeded 100 rushing yards in six of the final nine games.

On Wednesday, Lynch said he was confident he could play at Arizona, although he questioned how much he’d be needed. As well as the Seahawks defense had been playing, he joked, the offense might not have to produce very much.

J Stewart sits out Thurs practice. From MFL my payer news

(FFToday) RB Jonathan Stewart sits again w/ sprained ankle. Ron Rivera says among gameplans Panthers have prepared is 1 that does not include Stewart.

Den Moore practices but still GTD. From MFL My Player News

(FFChamps) Oakland Raiders wideout Denarius Moore (hamstring) practiced Thursday for the first time in more than a month, according to the Contra Costa Times. However, Raiders coach Dennis Allen said Moore is a "game-time decision" for Monday. Analysis: Moore could have a big season with Carson Palmer throwing him the football if he can stay healthy, but he has dealt with a hamstring injury since June. That's a major concern for someone who relies solely on his speed. Don't start him this week, especially since the Raiders are playing Monday night.

Mendenhall practcing but not expected to contribute Week 1. From My Player News

(Rotoworld) CBS Sports' Jason LaCanfora confirms Rashard Mendenhall (knee) is unlikely to see "meaningful action" in Sunday night's opener at Denver. Analysis: Mendenhall has made a "shocking return" and remains on track to return to game action later this month, but he's not in the backfield equation for Week 1. We still expect Jonathan Dwyer to lead the Steelers in carries at Denver, with Isaac Redman in a short-yardage and passing-down role.
