Bengals re-signed LCB Terence Newman to a two-year, $5 million contract. Newman, entering his age-35 season, finished 2012 with 75 tackles, ten pass breakups, two picks, and a forced fumble across 15 starts. Experiencing a late-career renaissance, Newman graded out as a top-20 corner in Pro Football Focus' ratings. The Bengals were content to let him walk with 2012 first-rounder Dre Kirkpatrick set to take over at left cornerback, but Newman took less money to return to Cincinnati. He'll now battle Kirkpatrick for the starting job in camp.

Nice move by the Bengals getting Newman back on the cheap. If Kirkpatrick is indeed the man Newman makes a great nickle and helps bullet proof the back end of the Bengals D.
