  • ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Melvin Gordon's holdout "could soon be coming to an end."
It's a very vague report with "could" and "though" mixed into the wording, but Schefter says Gordon had planned to report at some point in October and is considering moving up his reporting date. Its not good news for Austin Ekeler owners. We don't expect Ekeler to be phased out of the offense, obviously, but he's inevitably going to lose playing time and touches when Gordon does decide to rejoin the team. The Chargers could slow-play it and force Gordon to get some practice time under his belt before reinserting him in the lineup, but Ekeler could be a sell-high player after he likely destroys the Dolphins this Sunday.

  • Damien Williams (knee) remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice.
Williams' week isn't off on the right foot. It could again be LeSean McCoy and Darrel Williams carrying the backfield load against the Lions, with Darwin Thompson mixing in for a play here and there.

  • Case Keenum (foot) missed practice Wednesday.
The Redskins didn't actually practice but Keenum's "projected participation" at Wednesday's walk through classified him as sidelined. The 31-year-old had an x-ray following Monday's contest and should be considered doubtful after singlehandedly coughing up six turnovers against the Bears. We'll wait to see how the wind blows, but all signs point to No. 15 overall pick Dwayne Haskins making his first career start opposite Daniel Jones and the Giants on Sunday.

So the Giants are probably the hot waiver-wire pickup.

There's a sentence I didn't think I would be saying anytime soon

Melvin Gordon has ended his holdout and will report to the team tomorrow but is not expected to play this week. However he will be on the sidelines with his teammates
One watch out here folks, LAC gets three weeks to activate him, per the rules. So I would be shocked if he plays in the next two weeks as he has had no camp and no practice for quite a while.

Okay its official Jay Gruden is an idiot. First he was asked why he did not play the rookie Haskins against the bears - this was smart IMO, as the Bears would have chewed him up. He said, Haskins is not ready. Next in press conference later in the week, when asked if he will move to the rookie Qb Haskins he stated the season was not lost - as in we can only win with Keenum....Yikes. Now he has come out and stated - Haskins is not far away.

Way to really beat down the rookie Qb Jay, hope your brother wants a new OC next year, cause I am betting you won't have a job soon.
