Thigpen entered the 2008 season for the Chiefs as the third-string quarterback, but emerged as the starter following season-ending injuries to Broadie Croyle and Damon Huard. The Chiefs subsequently altered their offensive gameplan to a spread offense to help Thigpen and the rest of the young Chiefs team to play to the best of their abilities.

Tough call, Sarge. I think he should be the QB but the Chiefs coaches have shown an unnatural love for Croyle who has shown nothing but a string of injuries and production that hasn't even shown a flash of talent.

Then again, Herm Edwards might not survive the week. I'm not sure what the contract on Thigpen is like, but Id like to think someone would be at least wanting to have this guy as your #2. Imagine had the Boyz had him instead of Brad Johnson.

Yes he deserves a spot. To me none of the QBs coming out will be rookie Qbs that can start. IF KC takes a qb, I think thigpen will be starting until that QB is ready....and if he continues to progress, he will be playing somewhere in this league.

I agree, This is a good assessment . Thigpen is worth a spot at this time. That might change but for now he has a chance to be a starter
