Raheem to Winslow-"My Bad"?

Not really sure what to make of this except that I'd be very concerned having a "player's coach" dealing with attitude question marks such as KW2, Antonio Bryant, and Aquib Talib.

(From SI.com's Truth and Rumors)

After practice on Thursday Raheem Morris called out tight end Kellen Winslow for controlling his emotions. The Buccaneers traded a second and fifth round pick to the Clevelnd Browns for Winslow in the offseason, and gave him a contract extension during the offseason. Morris has talked about Winslow stepping up and being a leader throughout the offseason. Morris referred to some past problems. "Oh, he's definitely talented, but I'm also starting to get an idea of the problems he's had," said Morris. "But I think it's the first time anyone has ever addressed him, talked to him about it. He understands, he looks me in the eye, I look him in the eye and that's it-my bad. If he does something good, I'll tell him my bad. Sometimes his emotional energy is going to give us a lift and other times it hurts. He's got to know when it's the right time."

Its things like this that make me avoid Winslow. I dont have confidence a first time head coach can control him.

Morris definitely has a better chance of controlling him than Gruden would have. The fact that he is starting to confront the players for making bad decisions, big or small, is huge. I have been hearing of similar instances with Michael Clayton, Kelly Campbell, Gaines Adams, and basically the entire offense after one particular practice.

Good for Raheem, and if Winslow is going to have tantrums, I don't think he'll be afraid to sit him.

Derrick Brooks would have a better chance controlling these immaturity issues than a young rookie head coach, but alas, he's not there anymore (bad move).
It's called Street Cred, and Morris doesn't have it yet. Hopefully some team leaders can emerge soon or else this could get out of control in a hurry. It's commonly referred to as "The Inmates Running the Asylum".
