Packers | Tough decisions at wide receiver Sun Aug 21, 12:37 AM Green Bay Packers WRs Chastin West, Diondre Borel and Tori Gurley have looked good during training camp and during the preseason, but the Packers could have trouble keeping them all. The team usually carries five receivers on their roster, and it appears WRs Greg Jennings, James Jones, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Donald Driver are a pretty safe lock to make the team's final roster. They could opt to keep six receivers this year, but they would have to sacrifice depth at another position.

Packers | Deep at running back Sun Aug 21, 12:36 AM Green Bay Packers RBs Dimitri Nance and Quinn Johnson are in the running for roster spots, and RB Brandon Saine has looked good during training camp, too. The team usually keeps six running backs on roster each year, so they could run into a numbers game. RBs Ryan Grant, James Starks, Alex Green and John Kuhn are at the top of the position currently.

Packers | Deep at tight end Sun Aug 21, 12:22 AM The Green Bay Packers are deep at tight end and TE Jermichael Finley is the only lock for a roster spot at this point. TEs Andrew Quarless, DJ Williams, Ryan Taylor, Tom Crabtree and Spencer Havner are all options for roster spots. Letting Quarless go would hurt, as he's the team's second-best athlete at the position, and losing Crabtree would hurt, as he is the team's best blocking tight end.

Having quality depth is such a problem...sarcasm.

Too bad the Lions don't have this big problem.

Why would GB keep six backs? They don't run it enough to justify such depth. As for TE, the Dolphins are in the market for a TE or two, so I'm sure they're circling like the proverbial vulture.

12 minutes ago - by James Carlton - Getting to 53 - Packers roster prediction: QBs
In: (3) Aaron Rodgers, Matt Flynn, Graham Harrell. Out: Nobody. Analysis: The Super Bowl MVP’s understudy is perhaps the NFL’s best backup. Splendid in both practice and games, neither Rodgers nor Flynn are going anywhere. Harrell (30-for-52 for 266 yards and two TDs, with one interception in three preseason games) has an admirer in coach Mike McCarthy and has probably shown enough to warrant consideration as the No. 2 when Flynn almost inevitably leaves in free agency next year. They have got to be keeping Harrell out of necessity. He has really looked horrible during his time in the games that I have seen.

I hate having too many good players... it's one of the worst problems a a team can have.

I disagree with the fact that they can keep 5 TE. No team can sink that much of their depth chart into a secondary position like TE.

Most also list the long snapper as a TE, or that person usually is.
