Bengals owner Mike Brown explained that the holdup in getting Shemar Stewart signed isn't about money, but rather about contract guarantees in extreme disciplinary scenarios. Stewart’s agent is pushing for the deal to remain fully guaranteed even if Stewart were to commit a serious violation — something (hypothetically) as severe as going to prison. Brown noted that while he doesn’t believe that will ever happen, it’s the sticking point that’s delaying the deal.

Bengals - Trey Hendrickson is holding out as expected and won't report today for Training camp - facing $50K in fines each day. Per multiple reports the Bengals are talking again with Hendrickson's agent on a new deal the hang up is length of deal and fully guaranteed $$$. Per Schefter Bengals only offering a one year deal right now - and Hendrickson wants more commitment.

Bengals - Shemar Stewart - so per multiple reports this does seem really stupid. basically the Bengals want language in the deal that other teams HAVE, but Cincy has never done before - that states if you get suspended or have criminal issues you forfeit your guaranteed $$$. Stated by Paul Brown Jr - why should I pay him if he is in jail. For the record, the team is blaming the agents of Stewart, not Stewart himself stating he is getting bad advice.
