That’d be wide receiver Tiquan Underwood, who was released from the squad about 24 hours (!) before New England faces the Giants at Lucas Oil Stadium. In his place, the Patriots have signed rookie defensive end Alex Silvestro to the active roster.

As the Boston Herald points out, Underwood almost surely would receive a Super Bowl ring if the Patriots win and that the move was not disciplinary.

Life's a beach and then you die.

Imagine playing for one of the teams in the Superbowl in less than 24 hours. For an athelete it just doesn't get any better than that. You've dreamed of reaching that game since your hand was big enough to grip a football. Even before that for some players. Now your dream comes true. Your family and friends have patted you on your back and likely you've patted your own self on the back too. You've been thru media day and all of the hype.Then, then the nightmare arrives. You get that unexpected phone call that says "hey chump, we had to cut you from the team." But the game is less than 24 hours away coach. Dam! Double dam! And a few more of those words that Alpha reminded us we can't say here. Triple dam.

That's exactly what happened last night to the Patriot's Tiquan Underwood. Tiquan was cut so that the Pats could call up DE Alex Silvestro from the practice squad. Newton's law says that for every action there's an opposite and equal reaction and in this case it's certainly true for one Alex Silvestro but Dam.

The one bit of good news for Tiquan is that he'll still receive a superbowl ring if the Pats win the game. Guess what Tiquan, that's not going to happen either. Dam! It was a bad day to get out of bed.
 
My guess is, knowing Mr Kraft, he'll at least have Underwood on the sidelines (street clothes) or in his box. Something like that. I mean the guy already made the trip, can't imagine he'd just send him packing. Kraft just isn't like that.


Regardless though, that has to svck.
 
Rather beside the point, isn't it? I mean, Kraft can't be happy having to cover for Belichick's lack of people skills. Oh yeah, and the Patriots clearly needed receivers more than they needed offensive lineman last night. As much as I like Ocho, it's he who should have been cut considering how useless he's been to the team all year.
