Expectations 2016: Jeremy Hill

After a surprising rookie season where he averaged 5.4 ypc and scored 9 TD's it seemed that the LSU product was set for big things in 2015. Alas it was not meant to be as the sophomore RB looked slow and not that interested in breaking tackles. Still the Bengals kept the faith and continued to give him multiple touches and nearly always turned to him in the red zone. 2015 could have been worse but he did manage to average 3.6 ypc while upping his TD total to 12 with 794 yards on the ground. Those TD's saved him from being a complete bust but after being taken in fantasy drafts as a near if not elite RB it was hard for us owners to swallow. Now we need to figure out which Hill will show up for 2016. The carries will likely still be there especially in the red zone and he is the only Bengal RB signed through 2017. How will you draft him? Elite is out of the question but will you be happy with him as a RB 2 for your fantasy team? Flex option maybe or do you guys see him as a bench player with upside and little more than a TD vulture? I think I'll be starting out the season in my keeper league with him penciled in as my RB 2 but I'll be holding my breath. What say you Outlaws?

As the season turned, they leaned on him more and more I believe, they love the flexibility that Bernard gives them, but he is not an every down back. Hill has to get more in shape, and be more aggressive. But if he does so, I see them using the running game more.

Three lost fumbles plus the one in the playoffs might wake him up. It's going to be interesting to see how he rebounds from what had to be a disappointing season for himself as well as fantasy owners. It's too bad the Gio is such a great receiving back because that's a part of Hill's game that we've only seen glimpses of but much like Foster when he does get the ball with an open field and a head of steam he can be a force.

Key to me is the loss in the passing game. Sanu and probably Marvin Jones will be gone. A.J. is still there, but due big money, and Eifert has to stay healthy. They will want to run more, that is my guess, while the young Wrs they draft will learn the offense.

A little early for this silliness, isn't it Mike?

At this time last year, Zach friggin Stacy was a must keep, solid RB2. (and Tre Mason was the guy to own). Best laid plans of mice and men, eh?

Jeremy Hill is a nobody that found himself in a good situation Once Upon A Time. No one is building a team around this guy.

He could find himself in a good situation again at some point but it won't be because he out-performed the competition.
