NFL Impact
Coffman is very much an up and down guy when looking at his overall assets that he will bring to a team. On one hand you have the best receiving tight end in the draft this year. Chase is smart, runs better routes than a lot of receivers, and has extremely soft hands. The guy doesn't drop balls, has the hight and ability to reach over defenders and make tough grabs, and his concentration is off the charts. Another ability he has is making defenders miss. Take a look at the highlights below and you'll see what I mean. On the other hand, he's slow, not very strong, and seems to loose speed and playing time due to injuries. He was unable to participate in this years combine because of a foot injury, that has already costed him playing time before. Coffman is a deadly threat through the air, but he often times has been seen getting bull rushed by defensive ends. In the NFL, that spells immediate danger for your quarter back. So there's the gamble, a threat down field to help your offense, yet a mediocre blocker against the fastest and the strongest ends he will ever lineup against? There's no doubt in my mind that Chase will succeed in the NFL, and his dedication is very high. Whatever team drafts him, they will need to work with him quite a bit over the offseason. Chase just may have some growing pains is all.
So where do you think Coffman will land? How successful will he be in the NFL?
