Not unexpected honestly. @coachingsearch reports GM Scott Pioli has targeted Iowa's Kirk Ferentz to replace him.
 
It would be sad to see the Hawks lose Ferentz but I think he's be very successful! Not to mention, this might be really good for Stanzi ;-)
 
Its not the ideal situation for him, and for whatever reason he will be coach at Iowa till he dies. He could pass on the job.
 
Exactly. Money, Stability, and the fact he has turned down enough jobs to know the offers wont stop coming. Id pass on KC

He has been a target every year by at least one team... and it goes nowhere fast.

He coached his other two kids through Iowa - he is not going to bail on his last one. Not to mention he already gets paid just as much - if not more - than he would make in the NFL.

That said its obvious that Pioli is going to say Ferentz first since they are friends - then he will wink and move on to a real target.

Ferentz will play who has the best shot of winning for him (hence Stanzi taking over from Jake) - he has plenty of loyality to his players but that does not mean they get to play.
