yeah im making another thread thats right... but maybe this one can get done

HIS TEAM:

PEYTON MANNING IND QB
ADRIAN PETERSON MIN RB
JUSTIN FARGAS OAK RB
MARION BARBER DAL RB
arian foster RB HOU
RODDY WHITE ATL WR
BRAYLON EDWARDS NYJ WR
KENNY BRITT TEN WR

MY TEAM:
ME:
AARON RODGERS GB QB
FELIX JONES DAL RB
RONNIE BROWN MIA RB
CEDRIC BENSON CIN RB
Donald brown RB IND
AUSTIN COLLIE IND WR
MICHAEL CRABTREE SF WR
(early doucet, edelman, jacoby jones also in my WR pool)

any advice on what i can try to do here? he obviously needs WRs, and he came to me wanting felix, donald, and rodgers. however, he has said he won't trade AP

is it even worth it to bother with him?

Keep the threads coming man! I love seeing this shit.

My first thought is it is all well and good that he wants Rodgers, Jones, and Brown. However, you need to look at what you want to trade. IMO, you don't trade Rodgers. Keep him and build your team around him.

With that in mind, you then need to look at his team and see if there is anyone who can make you stronger. You already know AP is off the table and his other big gun is off in my scenario b/c you should keep Rodgers making Manning not needed.

My target would be White on this team. Depending how high on Felix is he is, you may be close on that. White's hype has dulled and many have forgotten about him a little. Still a very solid WR and would be nice to pair with Crab long term. Jones has a ton of upside and you will need to sell him on that.

Not sure I would just toss in Brown here, but he is going to ask. You will then need to find something balance it out. Britt is something to think about. But dealing Felix and Brown for White and Britt will leave you thin at RB. you may need something a little more.

But that is a starting point.

If this is a Dynasty league (presumed), I'm on board with Miller here. If he takes AP out of the mix, you're stronger at every position than he is and the only reason I would even consider dealing with him would be to get Roddy White. If those are his only rostered WR's, you'll obviously have to throw one or 2 of yours in. If he's that enamored with Donald Brown, try dangling him and Collie plus one of your bench WR's for White. It's fair value and you're selling high on a guy (Collie) who won't likely ever have any higher value than he does right now since Gonzalez will be back as the Colts #2 next year.

Rodgers should probably be deemed untouchable in any keeper'ish format unless you get blown away.

ok guys well i got something done

I GOT: Larry Fitzgerald (and his 3-8 and 4-8 picks in a 16 team draft)
I SENT: Ronnie Brown, Austin Collie (and my 2-10 and 3-10)

i hope this was a good deal for me...

NOW maybe i can try to get the MJD deal done!

HIM:
STEVE SMITH NYG WR
JAMES JONES GB WR
MICHAEL JENKINS ATL WR
MAURICE JONES-DREW JAX RB
MICHAEL TURNER ATL RB
PATRICK WILLIS

i was interested in MJD, and patrick willis. he would obviously need fitz. i am thinking of offering fitz, benson, and lance briggs for MJD, steve smith, and willis. what do you guys think?

He won't do that. Or should I say I wouldn't if I were him. Patrick Willis is the most valuable defensive player in just about every IDP format there is, plus the difference between Benson and MJD is significantly greater than the gap between Fitz and Steve Smith. He'd be taking 2 large downgrades to your one.

I love what you did in the Fitz trade and your team looks superb for a deep Dynasty league as it is right now.

yeah i figured i needed a starting WR opposite crabtree and getting rid of crippled ronnie and collie was worth it for fitz as i still have felix (who i hope becomes the starter next year)

would it be worth it to substitute turner for MJD?

It would be a mostly lateral move because you'll still never get Willis in that scenario. Unless you think Fitz will struggle without Warner.

now i got another proposition maybe i can get some help on it

I GET: peyton, roddy white, AP, goldson
I GIVE: rodgers, fitzgerald, benson, donald brown

any thoughts on this? is it fair or would it be more fair to trade felix rather than benson?

it would leave me with:

QB: peyton
RB: AP and felix jones (rather than benson, felix, and donald)
WR: roddy white (rather than fitz), crabtree, and other assorted WRs
TE: dallas clark

maybe THAT could then get that MJD deal done? (ap, crabtree/roddy and briggs FOR MJD, steve smith, and willis? or will a trade with him basically not happen?)

You'd sell your soul for MJD, huh?

The fella who owns MJD must be laughing his ass off.

Maybe you could then trade Manning, Jones and Fitz for Chris Johnson,

Then you could offer AP and CJ for MJD. Think he'd go for it?

no its actually just more that he has 2 players i want and maybe the trade would be good for me... because i think i could only get a deal done if both mjd and willis were involved

even if the mjd one doesnt happen would this be a good trade for me?

I GET: peyton, roddy white, AP, goldson

who is goldson?

I think your giving up too much to get AP to be honest.

dashon goldson is a DB from the niners because this is an IDP league

can you guys explain to me why i'm giving up too much? i know i'm only a 2nd year player but maybe i'm missing something?

here were my motives:
-rodgers has better upside, but peyton will likely play until he's 40 or so (and doesn't have to worry about getting injured while scrambling) and they each have (roughly) the same production
-there are questions about the QB in arizona, but roddy missed ryan for 2 games last year and still ended with 11 TDs
-of course the story with AP and benson. AP is a franchise RB and benson seems to miss a few games every year and was overused last year
- i'm not sure how much value donald brown will have with the resurgence of joseph addai, but i feel that if he can get the deal done, then i should do it (as a niners fan i really like dashon as well)
