Here is my view on which jobs are in jeapordy for the rest of this year, and start of next season - Focused more on HC, but will include GM as well where expected.
AFC
AFC East:
Buffalo - WARM - Bills are extremely successful, right up until the playoffs. I think if they don't make it to the Superbowl this year, discussions will happen.
New England - SAFE - New HC and they are already showing improvement
Miami - HOT - I honestly don't see any way McDaniels can keep his job. None. Even a Superbowl(which they have no shot at) will save him IMO. Or should at least. GM is a goner as well IMO.
NY Jets - SAFE - Again, this is a rebuild, and they need to give him some time - maybe?
AFC North:
Pittsburgh - WARM - I get it, this owner is loyal to his HCs. Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season. He also has not won a Superbowl or even had a playoff win in forever. I just think you can't stay with status quo much longer
Cincinnati - VERY WARM - Joe Burrow got hurt, think that is a pass? I don't. This team is a mess, and its not all on Zac Taylor. But he will face the blame. Even in their wins the defense was awful as was the O-line. I think this collapse will be Taylors ticket to the door.
Baltimore - WARM - I am sorry, but they have too much talent and can't win big games consistently and they can't win in the playoffs. This feels like a move will be made if this season continues as is.
Cleveland - HOT - Stefanski will be blamed, but the GM and OWNER should be fired. That being said, the Browns aren't nearly as good as you would expect, and I think it finally costs Stefanski his job. Berry should also be gone.
AFC South:
Indianapolis - SAFE - for now they are playing much better even with Daniels at QB. But if Daniels keeps this up, the GM should be fired for the Richardson drafting. IMO.
Jacksonville - SAFE - For now they are winning, and the team does not look totally lost. Which is a HUGE change. That being said that Lawrence contract is an albatross that will hurt this team
Houston - SAFE - they are not looking good. But loss of players to injury and bad trades by management is mostly to blame. At some point they really, really need to get an offensive line to protect Stroud.
Tennessee - HOT- New ownership, new GM, old coach. Guess who will be gone ... Yup. Callahan is a goner, period. Team has some talent but just can't put it together.
AFC West:
Los Angeles Chargers - SAFE - Harbaugh has them humming
Kansas City - SAFE - Andy Reid is working through the injuries and the suspensions and is even right now.
Denver - SAFE - not as dominant as expected, but they are winning some, losing some they shouldn't. Payton needs to clean some things up.
Las Vegas - SAFE - I get the move to Geno Smith. I love the Jeanty pick. I think they need to keep rebuilding for the future and let Pete Carroll get them better.
NFC
NFC East:
Philadelphia - WARM - WHAT? HUH? they are 4-0!!! Yes they are, and its simply because all facets of this team has gone beyond to win the game. That being said, the offense is atrocious, the Defense is hurting due to injury and now a star player is once again whining. Players love Sirianni...well most do. But once again there is turmoil and I don't think Sirianni knows what to do. This is looking to me a whole lot like 2023 vs. 2024. I hope I am wrong.
Washington - SAFE - not as good as expected, but they lost their starting QB for a few games so some hick ups are normal.
Dallas - VERY WARM - I think Cowboys settled when they signed Schottenheimer. I think they knew they had issues and why partly they let traded Micah Parsons to get the picks. Dak is showing why he is paid, but he is still paid way too much. The GM/Owner won't get fired here if this keeps up, so Schottenheimer could be the latest one and done HC.
Giants - HOT - Sorry, Dart looks promising, but this team isn't nearly good enough and I don't see any way Daboll keeps his job. Nor should Joe Schoen.
NFC North:
Detroit - SAFE - new DC, new OC and still same very explosive team. Defense still has issues but injuries again are main issue.
Green Bay - SAFE - First they walked on water, now they are just pretty good swimmers. Lets hope they don't sink. That being said I don't see any movement here at HC or GM
Minnesota - SAFE - O'Connell has made Wentz look okay. Now he needs to fix J.J. McCarthy. That being said though, I think HC and GM are safe
Chicago - SAFE - Johnson has made the offense relevant again. But this team needs more time to turn it around.
NFC South:
Tampa Bay - SAFE - took in used Baker Mayfield and made him relevant again. Defense is still very nasty.
Atlanta - SAFE - Not a fan of this team and its struggle to make its stars shine on offense. Penix Jr though looks solid.
Carolina - HOT - This is over. I don't see anyway he keeps his job. None. Not with this owner.
New Orleans - WARM - New HC, and stuck with QBs they had. I think he gets a pass this year, but they have to address RB and QB long term. Actually O-line and WR as well. Yikes. Maybe time for new GM?
NFC West:
San Francisco - WARM - Yes they are 3-1. Yes they are once again crushed by injuries. If they lose McCaffrey this year, they will fold like a deck of cards. I just don't know how much more latitude GM and HC has anymore. It may be time for a complete house cleaning.
Seattle - SAFE - Not a fan of MacDonald, but they are competing with Darnold at QB.
Los Angeles Rams - SAFE - McVay is safe. He just needs to make Stafford Bionic. SOON.
Arizona - WARM - Murray still doesn't seem to have it, and they still struggle in close games. I think if they dive this year, HC will change.
