Week 1 - Early Games Thread

I think Baltimore might actually win this game.

    WR WSIS

Are you joking or was this a serious question? Vontae Davis on his own could shut Welker down, but I rather suspect he's going to be on Ocho the entire night. Benny Sapp in combination with Dansby or Burnett would be sufficient to make passing to Welker a risky proposition. If Brady doesn't get...

    WR WSIS

Not likely. Welker's going to be double and triple-teamed all night. NE's other receivers can be covered by a single man or with a tight zone with relative safety.

    Patriots - 7 @ Dolphins 9/12 MNF

Dolphins have a huge win percentage when spotted 4+ point when at home on MNF. If anybody actually thinks Miami is going to be blown out under those circumstances hasn't been paying attention the past decade.

Week 1 Monday Night Football - New England @ Miami & Oakland @ Denver

IMO, the keys to this game are going to be Matt Light and Nate Solder. There was actually a very interesting discussion on Finheaven where everybody was debating where Cameron Wake, Jason Taylor, and Koa Misi should be lined up. The consensus was that because Nate Solder has struggled mightily...

Vollmer and Haynesworth Questionable Versus Dolphins

Link forthcoming. My take: There've been indications for the past few days that Vollmer won't play, so that's not a surprise. If Solder does play, expect a minimum five sack night out of Cameron Wake. As for Haynesworth, that's what he gets for eating food out of suspect brown paper bags; I...

Packers have BIG problems to address!

I disagree with the fact that they can keep 5 TE. No team can sink that much of their depth chart into a secondary position like TE.

Cowboys release Center Gurode: Completing O Line overhaul.

The Dolphins. Not because Pouncey is sucking it up, quite the opposite, but because the right side is sucking it up. If the Fins sign Gurode, they can move Pouncey to LG, Incog to RG, and Carey back to RT. Basically Columbo sucks and I can't wait to see him gone.

Thomas Jones And Jonathan Baldwin Duke It Out

General Practitioners as Mass General go for $1200/hr. Imagine what a psychiatrist would cost there. And he was up here in the Boston area for the entire summer receiving treatment from an entire psychiatric team.

Thomas Jones And Jonathan Baldwin Duke It Out

You don't go to Mass General to be treated for Borderline Personality Disorder for ****s and giggles. That's a major expense even for an NFL star.

    Cincinnati is a disaster

LOL. I can't decide if Undead Al's incompetence or Dust Bowl Brown's olde tyme sensibilities are worse on their teams.

Packers have BIG problems to address!

Why would GB keep six backs? They don't run it enough to justify such depth. As for TE, the Dolphins are in the market for a TE or two, so I'm sure they're circling like the proverbial vulture.

Thomas Jones And Jonathan Baldwin Duke It Out

Uh, Brandon Marshall has a rather serious mental disorder. Can Baldwin say the same?

Thomas Jones And Jonathan Baldwin Duke It Out

You just know that Cassel is going to set this asshole up on a slant pattern and either Davis or Clemons is going to knock the **** out of him. Personally speaking I hope they do it until Baldwin can't walk under his own power.

Alright RC, can you do it again??? Who is the next Hillis??

Based on last night's performance, I'm sticking with a Daboll running back and saying Reggie Bush. 81 yards on ten touches is pretty impressive and doesn't count an 11 yard run nullified by Lydon Murtha's holding problem.

    Dansby Rolling At 270

    Yep, that's his name.

    Dansby Rolling At 270

Was listening to Michael Irvin's radio show today and he was interviewing Karlos Dansby and Marshall Faulk. The two got to exchanging a little light-hearted smack and one of Dansby's comebacks was, "I don't know if you can handle this, I've probably got 40 pounds on you since I'm at around 270."...

FA Signing: Derrick Mason signs with Jets

The Jets seem to be downgrading themselves. They'll be lucky to make it to the playoffs at this point, never mind the AFC Championship.

Z Miller staying put? Turned Seahawk

Apply the Raider formula. Set up the play-action and when they're biting hard on the run let it fly. Rinse, lather, and repeat.

Mike Patterson collapses during Eagles practice

Heat stroke has more to do with your hydration level than actual heat. When I was in basic we had three guys in the company drop from heat stroke during morning PT when it was in the 70s and overcast. That said, I don't doubt the medical report.
