Lots of talk down here about the Longhorn Network and its effect on the Big 12 staying together. I personally think the conference should have split and we (OU, UT, Aggies, and Colorado) should have went to the Pac-10.
ESPN had a good idea and they are on the hook for alot of money to us regardless, but they want so much for it no cable system wants to buy it. Less than a month from launch and no one is carrying it.
Now this could be converted into a Big 12 network, but I dont see that happening. If the conference can hang on a couple more years, Fox will pay us an obscene amount of money for the TV rights, but Im not sure this conference can make it that long.
To me, its either find two teams to join, go back to a title game and split divisions, or whore out for one of the power conferences.
