(TheHuddle) New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said WR Plaxico Burress (ankle) still has swelling in his left ankle. Burress is not expected to participate in practice Friday, Aug. 5. Analysis: Ryan is just playing it safe. NFL Network has been peeking at Jets camp every few hours it seems, and Burress is not limping or anything. This is a guy who played the whole 2007 season with a torn tendon in his right ankle and still made the fantasy top-10.

(RotoWire) Bernard Scott sat out practice Thursday night with a sore hamstring, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Analysis: Scott remains Cedric Benson's top backup, but he's not considered an every-down back. His durability is a concern.

(RotoWire) Arian Foster strained his hamstring during Friday's practice, the Houston Chronicle reports. Analysis: Foster was practicing for the first time since ratification of the new collective bargaining agreement and injured himself after a 40-yard run to the end zone on the first play of an 11-on-11 scrimmage. Texans head coach Gary Kubiak could not say how bad the injury was. "I don't know, but he didn't feel good so I just said 'Get out,'" Kubiak said. "He went 35, 40 minutes (in practice) and looked great, so I'm hoping he'll be right back out here. We'll see."

(TheHuddle) Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) suffered a strained hamstring during practice Friday, Aug. 5. Head coach Gary Kubiak said he did not know the severity of the injury but was not concerned at this point. Analysis: TE Owen Daniels also left with an "illness." We'll keep you updated.

(RotoWire) Montario Hardesty (knee) was a limited participant in Friday's practice, the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Analysis: He was in full pads and worked on the sidelines with a trainer, but has yet to see contact in practice. Head coach Pat Shurmur said that easing Hardesty back into practice was part of the plan while recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in 2010. His development has been disappointing given high expectations going into last season, but he hasn't yet been given a true opportunity. He is a guy to keep an eye on once he is 100 percent healthy.

(RotoWire) Prince Amukamara fractured the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot Saturday and will have surgery, the Giants' official site reports. Analysis: It's unknown just how long Amukamara will be out, but obviously this is a big blow for the first-round draft pick.

Not good

(TheHuddle) Arizona Cardinals FS Adrian Wilson (elbow, biceps) is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his elbow and biceps. The team will know more about Wilson's condition Monday, Aug. 8. Analysis: The Cardinals traded away CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and can ill afford to lose Wilson, the heart of their entire football team. We'll keep an eye on this.

(RotoWire) Mikel Leshoure was carted off the field Monday with what is being described as a left foot issue, Mlive.com's Tom Kowalski reports. Analysis: Any time the words "carted off" are in play, there has to be concern, but so far the extent of the rookie back's injury is unclear.

Why are the Lions so unlucky? Fairly injured and out for preseason, now Leshoure. I think we are cursed. :(

(RotoWire) Denario Alexander (knee) was held out of the club's inner-squad scrimmage on Sunday, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Analysis: Five surgeries over a three year span on the same knee always makes us nervous and the way the Rams have been relatively tight-lipped about the extent of Alexander's injury has us wondering. It could be that the club is just handling Alexander with kid-gloves because his potential is through the roof but if his knee is already acting up we have a hard time seeing him making it through the year without missing some significant time at some point.

I didn't know he had 5 surgeries in 3 years on the same knee?!?

(RotoWire) Steve Smith (finger) was carted from practice Tuesday, Gaston Gazette writer Steve Reed reports. Analysis: The Panthers will presumably x-ray the finger to check for signs of a break. As long as the injury isn't ligament-related, Smith might have dodged a bullet here. Still, nothing definite has surfaced at this point.

Carted off the field for a finger injury?

(FFChamps) Marques Colston has sat out five straight days of camp while nursing his knee, according to Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Analysis: This is a bit of a concern as the star receiver is coming off microfracture surgery, which has been a killer of many players career. Colston is expected to return to practice soon, but take caution when considering him as a starter in fantasy drafts until his outlook appears brighter.

Uh, oh. His knee is already hurting...

Between him and Steve Smith(NYG), they both are coming off of microfracture of the knees and neither ready to play. Moore's value is really getting high...as is Graham and Ingram.
