KC QB Matt Cassel has a cracked rib and is iffy for Week 1

Cassel (ribs) suited up for practice Monday, the Kansas City Star reports. Cassel, who was noticeably present under center for the first snap of practice, was spotted making some short throws during the period that the media was allowed to view the session. That's not to say that Cassel is out of the woods with regards to his rib issue, but his participation Monday is clearly encouraging.
Coach says that he participated in full for today's practice.

Had a live draft today, and a guy actually drafted both these qbs. He was not aware of Cassel's injury and ended up having to take Hasselbeck in the later rounds so he was assured a week 1 starter. :yellowlaugh:
I like Hasselbeck this week and can feel the guys pain at having to carry 3 QB's.

Hired Guns.....traded for Peyton Manning way back at the beginning of the offseason, signed Cassel as a one week backup.....well...........just crap. Is Jake Locker starting in Tennessee this week that I don't know about?

He is looking good - KC fans seem to be falling in love with him.
Not the team though, Palko is the back up to Cassel by all reports.
