I'd guess the latter, and if so he can look to Leonard Little as a beacon of hope that his garbage career can continue.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, Miami police are looking into the matter to determine whether Stallworth was driving under the influence.

Wow... this is pretty bad regardless but if it's a DUI that's just awful.

If he was drunk its Intoxication Manslaughter, not DWI. One gets you a suspended license and a slap on the wrist, the other gets you a date with Bubba.

Being found to be over the legal limit, he will no doubt be charged with vehicular manslaughter.
Kiss your NFL career goodby you fricking idiot. Dont worry moron, at least with vehicular manslaughter there wont be a death penalty sentence. What a dumb ass.

Football wise, Stallworth is another prime example about how worthless the 40-yard dash is in evaluating a football player.

YEP............

Stallworth is a local kid (Grant High School) in Sacramento. They have a great football program, one of the best in the state every year, despite being in the middle of a ghetto. Their coach is a high profile media guy who stands up for his players and plays the "poor us, were the social underdog" card. He seems to relate well to his players but there is this attitude of "we're thugs, so what" running though the Grant program, which doesn't exactly benefit the players turning into responsible citizens after they graduate.

Stallworth was at Grant at the same time as Ontario Smith and they had a powerhouse team. They both go to Tennessee and Smith gets into trouble immediately and transfers to Oregon. Both have under achieving NFL careers despite being supremely talented. Smith because of drug issues, Stallworth due to injury and attitude. Stallworth was one of the most physically gifted WRs coming out of college. Fast, quick and good size. He was always injured (which I think was a lack of proper conditioning and stretching) and just didn't seem to care enough to put in the work necessary to be elite. I think it goes back to the lack of discipline and direction that they had in High School. Plus, the NFL kept rewarding him with big contracts despite the lack of performance. Living off his potential. What could have been..........

Now, he'll be just another "thug in prison". Smith is just another "thug who will be in prison". What a waste. Those 40 times don't mean much now..........

A little update on the situation:

MIAMI (AP)—Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth said he flashed his car’s headlights to warn a pedestrian before fatally striking the man in Miami Beach last month, according to a report released by police.

The report released Tuesday also said the pedestrian wasn’t in a crosswalk when Stallworth’s Bentley hit him.

Police said Stallworth was driving about 50 mph in a 40 mph zone. They are investigating whether alcohol played a role in the accident. No charges have been filed against Stallworth pending the outcome of blood tests.

A police diagram shows that Reyes was hit in the far left lane of the six-lane MacArthur Causeway—not in a nearby crosswalk. Stallworth stopped a few feet away.

Maybe M.Reyes was not in our near a crosswalk is not very bright on his part, but the pedestrian always has the right-of-way and warning him is a BS excuse. D.Stallworth should have slowed way down and let Reyes get across the street, crosswalk or not. If found to be over the legal limit, he's toast.
I find D.Stallworth guilty of being an idiot. Sentence: 10yrs in the state penitentiary no parole. His lawyers :stooges: will appeal.
