Whoah, let's slow down a little here. If Ced is healthy there will not be a RBBC. Ced is the RB1, period.
This does give them a runner of similiar style to Ced if he does go down to keep the other roles similar

Castoffs are one thing many teams have a few, but this guy will be disruptive to the team chemistry, the plan for him is to NOT start, why pay him to ride the pine.
I cant believe the Bengels would sign him to keep others from having him, just dont make any sense to me.
Wouldn't it make more sense to let another team have "The Loser" to disrupt there locker room.

And your hearing it now....Cedric Benson is their RB....if healthy, LJ likely won't even be active for gamedays.Heard that one before

As a Benson and Bengal supporter I hope you're right Miller but I have to tell you that I haaaaaaaaaaaaa sinking feeling in my gut that Benson will lose carries. I can't imagine signing LJ to be inactive.
The kicker is though it coems down to a game of numbers...The Bengals activate 3 backs on game day, 4 if you add the FB.
So when Benson is heathy he is obviously one spot.
Scott is now the starting KR, so he is #2
Leonard is a jack of all trades and a huge part of their 3rd down offense and ST's. I can't see them deactivating him.
Since Johnson is not a KR or a 3rd down back, he not takign one of those spot nor is he taking Bensen's spot if healthy.....
Just comes down to numbers, he's a bell cow insurance policy for Bensen is my guess, just don't see the room on game day for him once Bensen is a go.

But...I do think LJ could have a role. That being the full time back if Ced is hurt.
I agree if healthy, Ced is #1 period. However, if they make it to round 2 of the playoffs, and keep up his carries it would put Ced over 400 for the year. They have three teams very susceptable to the run in Oakland, Detroit and Cleveland....so at some point they need a back that can take carries from Ced to rest him for playoffs.
LJ is that back with like style and speed....if he is really back.
I love Bernard Scott, but you can't be a return specialist and be a pound the ball rb also.
I love Leonard...but I don't think he has the break away speed like Ced or LJ.
So they had no choice. My guess is ...since they now use a jumbo package with Roland at TE...they might deactivate a TE or FB to put LJ active.
