Wow the NFL has come a long way

Valuable message:

The parity in this league is astounding. No favoritism at all here. Way to go NFL on ruining the game with your :homer: fines!

A hand gets up in a quarterback's face and leaves him with a bloody, broken nose. No flag is thrown. It wasn't under a pile or anything, it was right in front of everybody. You're confused you say? :eek:bvious: How could this happen at the very time the league is severely cracking down on penalties you wonder?

Then I'll tell you it was only Ben Roethlisberger. Now you feel better? You are allowed to cold-cock ben on the field of play and not get a penalty or fine. Remember that rule? It was passed the game before when a linebacker named Richard Seymore cold-cocked him and no penalty was called. Refs might have missed it. Good thing it wasn't James Harrison making the hit.
O I forgot he's not allowed to hit any more. They would fine him. They would fine him again and again "until he learns how to hit safely". The National Football League really made a difference and sent a valuable message* this year!

Not to mention two helmet-to-helmet hits to Heinz Ward over the past 4 games. Wow I love this game :jerkoff: It really epitomizes the meaning of "sportsmanship" with the league showing how it's to be done.

Just in the nick of time for Heath Miller ~ it's a good thing they started flagging and fining players over flagrant & damaging hits in 2010! Boy, think of how he could have become the poster child for malicious hits if they wouldn't come down on hits like that so hard just now. They used to call it unnecessary roughing or something like that.

Way to go National Football League! Is it possible the message wasn't the hits by James Harrison at all. It was James Harrison. Or Ben Roethlisberger. Or whoever the "commisssioner" orders the League to hit.

Think about it people. Don't let them ruin the game just because it didn't happen to your team. Or do you really believe only Pittsburgh makes plays like this?

* Editor's note: Anybody know what that message was? If you could help me with this, I'm not quite getting it.

Thanks for providing me the site to do so...lol. Notice though how I speak the truth thru the tears.

Guys are getting hurt, put out of games, and certainly having their careers put in jeopardy. Not to mention life after football. So it's not really the laughing matter it used to be when players wore canvas helmets. Hey! THAT might stop the purported helmet-to-helmet hits. Hmmm, should we go back to them so players might...nah, forget it.

But my point is the league has gone soft. Soft-headed perhaps, but soft for certain. They are "protecting players really seriously this year". Huh? Wonder why I'm crying? I don't care about multimillion $ football players that is for sure! Not the Steelers or anyone else. It's hypocrisy that pissed me off to see even old standards like don't keep tackling a QB after the ball is long gone, or kick him 3 more times to the head, or don't spear a guy who's already tackled, you know...simple stuff that's so obvious it demands a response.

So make light of it if you want, but guys are getting killed out there. I don't care about that, to reiterate. I care only that the NFL says They are "protecting players really seriously this year" and then throws all the rules out the window and turns to fining individuals by choice. It's bullshit whether you choose to recognize it or not. The NFL is going soft.

I agree with Big Ben; not sure why he takes so much abuse without some of the calls. I do think James is a dirty player though and some of the cheap shots do need to taken away from the game. But the Big Ben treatment is puzzling at times. I think its also made much worse, cause the guy is one tough SOB, so he just always plays through the hit/pain.

I DO NOT agree with Vick. How many times have you seen a D player casually track down or try to escort him to the sidelines, he CUTS BACK and runs up the field. Brady - Manning, WILL NOT cut back in when they are running to the sidelines. Once Vick tucks the ball and runs, he SHOULD be treated like a RB. You should be allowed to absolutely DESTROY him. But alas, he still gets protected from that. But no way he should be treated the same as other QBs who would never cut back when running for the sidelines.

Here's to Lingerie Football!!!!:perfect10: (Women are always right.)

Back to the NFL:

And now on MNF Brett Favre gets thrown down like a wet doll against a big galumpa! No flag or anything, just ended his career.

Then in the same game the defensive Edwards chest-bumps Cutler into another player and gets called for
"Roughing the Quarterback!".

Curious isn't it?

I tell you the NFL is getting soft-headed and ruining the game.
