Monster.com and NFL Kick Off Search for Next NFL Director of Fandemonium

Fans can submit "applications" at nfl.monster.com until November 16, 2009; winner gets $100,000 and incredible access to NFL events

NEW YORK - October 1, 2009 - Monster.com®, the leading global online career and recruitment resource and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: MWW), together with the National Football League (NFL) today announced the opening of the 2010 Director of Fandemonium (DOF) online application process at nfl.monster.com. The DOF promotion inspires the most zealous football fans to compete for the dream "job" of serving as a fan ambassador for Monster and the NFL with special access at a series of marquee events throughout the 2010 NFL season.

This is the second year Monster and the NFL have teamed to find the DOF, this year expanding the promotion to allow fans to participate in deciding who becomes the next Director of Fandemonium. The competition will allow fans the ability to lobby and "vote" for their favorite finalists.

"This promotion is a totally unique way to connect with consumers," said Ted Gilvar, executive vice president and global chief marketing officer, Monster Worldwide, Inc. "We provide unparalleled access to the NFL in the form of a dream job and this year we want NFL fans everywhere to help us decide who should get the job."

Last year's winner and current DOF, Onyx Herrera has been living the dream of every NFL fan, having announced a pick at the 2009 NFL Draft and, more recently, hung out with former NFL players and Grammy Award-winning artists at the at the NFL Kickoff event in Pittsburgh. Onyx will be keeping fans updated on his adventures throughout the NFL season on Facebook at Monster Director of Fandemonium | Facebook and Twitter at Monster DOF (MonsterDOF) on Twitter. He is also writing a blog on NFL.com.

"We are happy to once again to join with Monster on this unique chance for fans to be part of the NFL," said Mark Waller, CMO of the NFL. "Last year's program was a success and the next DOF is going have a big role to fill."

How it Works
To enter, fans can apply directly online at nfl.monster.com, or recommend friends and family for the position via an online entry form. Fans that send "referrals" will be entered automatically in weekly sweepstakes giveaways featuring NFL gift cards and a trip to the Super Bowl. In addition, all fans who enter or send referrals will receive a 15 percent discount from NFLShop.com. Fans can apply and send referrals once per day during the application process, and may also enter via mobile phone at Monster.com NFL DOF::Tell us your age.

Thirty-two contestants - one for each NFL team - will be chosen at random to compete for the role of Director of Fandemonium. Once the 32 are determined, their profile will be posted online at nfl.monster.com and fans will be able to vote for their favorite contestant throughout the NFL regular season, ultimately narrowing down the selection to eight finalists who will go head-to-head in an online competition which will include direct fan participation via active lobbying and public online voting at nfl.monster.com until only two finalists remain. The final head-to-head, one-on-one "showdown" will take place live at the 2010 Pro Bowl in South Florida in January 2010, after which the winner will be crowned by Monster as the next Director of Fandemonium on February 7, 2010, the date of Super Bowl XLIV.

Once "signed," the next Director of Fandemonium will take home a $100,000 signing bonus, as well as take part in the behind-the-scenes action at several marquee NFL events during the 2010 season. The 2010 NFL marquee events in which the new DOF will have the opportunity to play a key role include:
