    The Official Playoff Elimination Thread

the 49ers defense beat my playoff squad in one league... by a single point it was pretty excruciating to watch

    Sims-Walker good to go

I'm still not using him considering how unlikely he was to play

I'm out of the playoffs but...

If it involves changing the playing field for those engaged in a legitimate competition then yes, it is. It's OK to mess up people's fantasy playoffs as long as that's not the reason you messed them up? "Violates the very core of the spirit of competition"? Here I was thinking that stepping...

I'm out of the playoffs but...

When the playoffs have started and you are not in them (but only in a consolation bracket) why would you "play for pride"? Your season is over. Now if this were a situation where the person is mathematically eliminated but the regular season is still going on - sure, there's nothing wrong with...

I'm out of the playoffs but...

Even when there is nothing to fight for? If it's officially condoned in the league rules that's one thing - but I wouldn't want to play in a league that had a rule like that.

Big Game: Philadelphis Eagles @ New York Giants SNF

Eagles are playing the Giants? I hadn't heard

I'm out of the playoffs but...

In the league that I run eliminated teams are not allowed to make roster adjustments by adding or dropping players. In general, I think allowing eliminated teams to do this messes with the league and can only create problems. Unless it's a dynasty league there is no incentive to adjust your...

    First Time in NFL History....

Had no idea... that's pretty good work. I agree that the offensive line deserves more consideration than the backs themselves for this sort of accomplishment. After all, LJ wasn't exactly tearing it up in KC.

Russell benched, Gradkowski will QB Raiders

I don't know or care how well Gradkowski will do as the Raiders QB. What I do know is that Jamarcus deserved to be benched a long time ago, and I'm glad this organization has at least acknowledged that they need to go in a new direction.

Week 10 Big Game: Eagles vs San Diego Chargers

Unfortunately I think the Chargers get the win this week. The Eagles' secondary is very thin right now (Hobbs on IR, Hanson suspended) and our linebackers are all injured except for Witherspoon. I hope I'm wrong, but it could be a long day.

    LJ to Redskins?

A player who used to be great with attitude issues that demanded huge money and never lived up to his contract.... sounds like a perfect fit in Washington

    Eddie Royal

I think it's the biggest mystery of the 2009 NFL season. It's a much bigger mystery to me than the Broncos' overall season record, and that's saying something. I don't get it... I'm clueless... what the hell happened?

Steve Slaton Benched, Moats takes advantage of opportunity

You think it's just a motivational tactic? I'm encouraged hearing a lot of people say this... but I'm not sure I buy it. Moats has earned himself a role in the offense now, and Slaton's carries (especially near the goal line) aren't very high to begin with.

    RB Jamal Lewis announces retirement

This doesn't really surprise me since there were rumors swirling that Jamal might not even make the team this preseason. He's not the same player he used to be and I think he has hit that running back cliff - he knows it. Retirement is the right decision here in my opinion. The question now...
