The Texans have agreed to a contract with free agent outside linebacker Cato June. He will sign a one-year contract worth $1.5 million, including a $500,000 signing bonus. The deal could be worth as much as $2 million.

The Texans have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with free agent middle linebacker Buster Davis, who played at Indianapolis

this frees up the #15 pick even more and could change up their whole draft plans to this point . . . if they can't get cb/fs malcolm jenkins and they don't trade down, rb chris wells could very well be the pick . . . cb vontae davis is a possibility, but there's value in the 2nd and 3rd . . . i still like matthews for this team and these ARE just 1 yr deals, but the need has definitely weakened . . . ;)

Even if they only hit on one of these guys, these are great, low-risk high-reward moves for a team that is really close to breaking into the AFC playoff picture. June still has some ability left in the tank and represents good leadership and experience for a unit of young defenders.
Indy's still Indy, but everyone there is getting older, Tennessee will not go 13-3 again, and J-Ville is in full rebuild mode. The window is finally opening for Houston if they have a solid draft.

Precisely, The Texans have gone from a new team that needs to fill big holes in talent to a team that can look for little economical upgrades. It is good to see them reach this mode and be playing the Free Agent market wisely. Even if only one of these guys become a contributor it is money wisely spent.
