Still puzzled after all these years on why Seattle picked Rick Mirer over Bledsoe....

Because Seattle had the #2 pick & Bledsoe went #1. They should of traded the #2 pick to SF, who equally failed in their scouting of Rick Mirer. At least the Bears were dumb enough to trade a first round pick for him a few years later, which allowed the Seahawks to make some deals that resulted in Shawn Springs & Walter Jones.
