Draft Projection - Top 15 pick

NFL Impact

2008 Jim Thorpe Award Winner. Malcolm Jenkins is the consensus #1 corner on the board and for good reason. At a legit 6'0 and over 200 lbs he has the desired size for a first round corner who projects to be a shut down corner at the NFL level. He plans to run the 40 yard dash at the combine and should time out well. He's run a 4.30 on record before and hopes to get under that mark in front of scouts. He's physical at the point of attack and has the quicks to stay with most if not any NFL receiver. Jenkins also did well in school and was praised for picking up the starting role at OSU as a freshman and taking the heat in stride. That kind of praise is what may separate him from Vontae Davis and could have him taken in the top 10. Jenkins is about the closest thing to a sure thing corner draft prospect who can also step in at safety in a pinch.

So where do you see Jenkins going in this year's draft and more importantly how do you see him as an NFL corner?

Not sure Malcolm will run anywhere close to that, his projected time is closer to 4.45 and some are concerned that he can run that. Some have speculated he may need to be moved to safety.

I think he will be fine at corner. He may not have the 4.3 speed, but this guys is a natural corner with great coverage skills. He's a play maker and as Ram stated he will be able to make an instant impact. A solid combine will solidify a top 10 pick IMO.

Strange, the 4.30 came from THE Ohio State University's sports website. I could understand a little fudging but a whole 0.15 in the 40 for his position would be a major let down. 4.45 is still good though and as you can see in his highlight reel he's a football player. So his 40 time is pretty much worthless when you see him on film, IMO.

lol, that's funny that the OSU website is claiming a 4.3....there's a whole lot of optimism by who ever posted that.
